Current Event Analysis | Instant Homework Solutions
Current Events Analysis. Find a recent news article (not an editorial, essay, or other opinion piece) no older than 3 months from either The New York Times (www.nytimes.com), The Marshall Project (www.themarshallproject.org) or other NATIONAL newspaper that discusses a contemporary criminal justice issue. Your written assignment should be no fewer than 800 words and describe the background/context of the issue(s) and connect the event to at least 2 concepts from the textbook. Pay more attention to discussing the concepts than summarizing the news story. The point of the assignment is for you to demonstrate your understanding of criminal justice concepts, not to re-tell the news story. The assignment is worth 40% of you final grade. Cite the article as well as the textbook. Be sure to carefully proofread your assignments before you submit them. Grammatical and spelling errors will result in substantially lower grades. Be sure to use proper grammar. You will earn a lower grade for run-on sentences, incomplete sentences, unclear writing, misspellings, lack of proper citations, incorrect grammar, etc. Use ASA style citations, e.g. Fichtelberg 2020:53 or APA style citations, e.g. Fichtelberg, 2020, p. 53.
