Read Jimmy Carter’s “Malaise” Speech  (Links to an external site.) . What was Carter’s intention when he gave it (in other words, what do you think he hoped to achieve with it)? What historical issues could have contributed to his desire to give this speech? Was it a good and/or effective argument? Why or why not?
