Exact instructions are to follow below, however I only want the beginning of the essay written, perhaps just the intro and a solid body paragraph; Directions for Writing: Analyze and evaluate a written policy and argue whether this policy should be ended, amended/replaced, or maintained. Specifically, argue whether or not this existing or proposed policy produces or sustains greater equity (antiracist) or inequity (racist) based in part on race/ethnicity, and perhaps also on class, gender, sexuality, and/or any other relevant intersections. Develop your thesis by discussing main causes or reasons why this policy exists or is being proposed (are the ideas, systems, and interests responsible for this policy racist? antiracist? race-neutral? equitable/inequitable?) discussing the main effects of the policy (does/would the policy produce/sustain greater equity or inequity based on race and other relevant factors?) suggesting proposed solutions or alternatives to this policy (if you’re arguing it should be amended/replaced), and/or alternative ways of producing/sustaining equity that do not involve creating and implementing policy (e.g. changing the ways individuals think and act) As you develop your thesis by discussing the causes, especially effects, and possible solutions/alternatives to this policy, engage key definitions, ideas, arguments, and incorporate ideas, arguments (including at least one counter-argument), and evidence from other authoritative, relevant sources consider other evaluative criteria such as the scope, desirability, and feasibility of this policy  Textual/Research Requirements: Develop your thesis by citing arguments and evidence from at least three authoritative, relevant sources, at least two of which must be articles from academic journals.
