Students are invited to prepare their individual contribution in form of the research essay to search for similarities and differences between:Option a) public and private sector projects.Option b) projects from 2 different sectors (IT, Construction, Transport, Energy, etc)You may choose one of two possible option to address in your essay. It is preferable to research these issues on concrete organizations (companies, institutions).In preparation of this essay, address different issues related but not restricted to the following questions:What are the major specificities and differences between public and private sector (or two sectors) projects from the point of view of their selection and managing?How is project governance set up inthese projects?Which tools of project management are usually used in managing different phases of projects and how they enable these organizationsto manage projects successfully? You can also propose some project management tools that are not used in these organizations, and byusing them the overall project management would be improved.Which project life cycle model (traditional, agile…) is more appropriate for public and/or private sector?How is IT technology used to support project management (which software)?What are the biggest challenges of public and private sector projects?Propose actions and measures to avoid pitfalls for these types of projects.TYPE OF ASSEMENTIndividual research essayGRADINGThis assessment worth 15% in your total course grade.Grading will take into consideration how your paper achieves course learning objectives:1. Interpret the principles of project management and its typical structure and project team roles2. Apply basic analytical tools within a project management environment3. Appraise project cycle in both regional and global organizational settingsRESTRICTIONSYour paper will be checked for similarity with other sources. Maximum level of similarity allowed is 20%, excluding bibliography section. The policy related to similarity and plagiarism will be STRICTLY implemented. Use APA style for referencing paper should include at least 1.000 words.RECOMMENDATIONSaddress all relevant issues related to topic,use your own words and expand your answers always applying class materials and terminology,link existing literature with practice,be creative,be persuasive,be critical thinker,take care of using appropriate writing style,implement adequate structure for the paper (appropriate sections should be included such asintroduction, research methodology, findings, conclusions & proposals, references)use infographics and tables to improve the visual effect,distribute your text evenly between the margins (align your text from both sides)check twice grammar and syntax.
