Then watch this video clip from the show Mad Men, making observations and taking notes by hand as if you are an anthropologist doing fieldwork. What are the men doing? What are the women doing? Are there any differences among the men? What about the women? After your observations, type a selection of your notes (bullet points are fine) for submission as your first answer to this assignment. Importantly, these typed notes must be thick descriptions, which we learned about through Geertz’s reading last week, contextualizing the observation with when and where the action occurred, who performed the action, and their intention behind the action.
