Sociological Research Project Design

Design a (hypothetical) research project in which you will study factors that influence and determine student retention at a university. (By student retention, we mean enrolling at the university and staying until graduated. Retaining students is vital to the successful operation and sustainability of a college!) You will be implementing survey research with students on this campus as your study sample. Describe your research in detail, including how you will develop a representative sample for conducting your survey. Describe, explain, and justify your use of a survey for your data collection. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both open-ended and closed-ended questions in survey research.
