This topic is very interesting! The qualitative research articles used to this assignment were Case Study on Patient with Migraine and Qualitative Analysis of Multiple Mini Interview Interviewer Comments. The first article utilized a case study of Dr. Erika Landau, the pioneer of gifted education in Israel who gives an account of her experience since childhood to gather information for analysis (Vidergor, 2019). The second article, on the other hand, was a collection of information through mini-interview (Naragatti & Gupta, 2019).
The first similarity between the two articles is that description is widely utilized in both articles. Naragatti and Gupta (2019) describe the variable and fact pertaining to the experiment including the description of postdrome and the general cause of migraine. Vidergor (2019) also uses description to explain the change of the creative approach of Dr. Erika Landau as she transitioned from childhood to adulthood. The other similarity between the two articles is that the method of data collection used involve the collection of explicit detail thus applicable in real-life situation. Both authors collected in-depth information that was used to explain the reason as to why the outcomes were as they were observed.
The primary difference between the two articles was that Naragatti and Gupta’s (2019) article incorporated only a qualitative approach here as Vidergor’s (2019) incorporated both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Vidergor (2019) not only explains why Dr. Erika Landau, creative approach has changed over the years but also demonstrated how the phenomena occurred.
Both methods seem to be a good choice for researching the topic covered. The case studies were useful in explaining various phenomenon that contributed to sound conclusion that the authors reached.
