Project Option 1: Renewable Energy Evaluation, Selection and Design

When a client decides to implement a source of renewable energy, companies typically collect at least a years’ worth of weather data to help determine which device would be best for the specific location. Weather data will be provided to teams identifying this project as their selection, which is then to be analyzed to determine which renewable energy source would be recommended. In the analysis of the weather data factors that could be considered are temperature, precipitation, wind speed and direction.

The team will also evaluate potential renewable energy sources, Solar and Wind Energy at a minimum, creating a system that can provide enough electrical power for a town of 200 households. The final analysis is to include a list of components, the plan of how the components are to be arranged in the assigned town on a topographic map, and an estimate for the cost for the system.
