Contemporary researchers and practitioners of development hold different views about what constitutes development and how it should be measured. Compare and contrast the strengths and weaknesses of the three views of development discussed in class at the beginning of the term (economic growth, human development, post-development) and explain which view(s) in your opinion offer(s) the most useful approach. In your conclusion, identify the main factors that may prevent countries in the Global South from achieving their development goals.
