Help me study for my Writing class. I’m stuck and don’t understand.

Writing Assignment 1

This is the first of three writing assignments in this class, and it starts out EASY.No research (although you can), no references and citations required (although you can), and only worth 10 points.

Consider this list of “issues”.Notice that they are all health related in some way shape or form, and that’s because so many of the students in this class are headed toward a health related career path.But they are issues that may already impact you, or will in the future. Notice also that they are quite loosely defined, and rather amorphous topics.That’s a gentle way of saying they are VERY broad topics.

• Biology of gender and sexual identity
• Diabetes Type II
• Diet, Nutrition, Exercise and Weight Loss
• Mental Health
• Impact of Evolution on Health care via antibiotic resistance and superbugs
• Your choice, but please check with me first.MUST have a science aspect.

Now, the hard part.Pick one.You can pick one for any reason –interest, personal impact, family history, it doesn’t matter.It’s YOUR choice.

Write about the topic.If you’d like to research and give some fact basis, that’s fine.If you want to disclose the reason you chose your topic, that’s fine.A combination of both is fine.

Remember that you are posting to a discussion board, and it’s public.If there is some reason you’d actually prefer your writing to remain totally private between you and I, email it.

300 words.No citations are necessary.

Don’t plagiarize, that would be crazy.If caught you’ll lose your credit and suffer additional repercussions in the course.You’ll be reported to Student Compliance and develop “a record”.And most importantly, you’ll get caught in a web, because the next two assignments will feed off this one, so you’ll be forced to either continue plagiarizing, or you’ll have to make your own written work later “match” what someone else said, and that is going to suck.
