Carefully examine the distribution of the Hispanic population of the U.S. in 1940 (Figure 1) and 1970 (Figure 2). Compare the two maps and answer the following questions:
- Which three states had the highest Hispanic populations in 1940?
- Which three states had the highest Hispanic population in 1970?
- By 1970, what is the only east coast state that had a Hispanic Population of more than 500,000?
- Describe the change in the distribution of the Hispanic population of the U.S. between 1940 and 1970?
