- Class Discussion As one group, talk about the Business Analysts role from what they learned doing the task work before class.
- Break the students into groups to work on their group IT projects.
- Using the Business Analysis Core Concept Model as a framework for their IT project, have the group create a requirement classification schema document. Be sure to include business, stakeholder, solution, (functional and non-functional) and transition requirements. Be sure to add the design for each of the requirements.
- Have each group present their findings.
- Class Discussion – As one group talk about stakeholders and their importance.
- Break the students into their groups and determine who are the stakeholders for their group IT project.
- Research the internet for examples of a stakeholder analysis tool. Once you have a group agreement on the tool, fill it out to include; list of stakeholders in your project, level of importance, level of interest, and why they were included in the list.
- Have each group present their findings.
- During the 10 weeks, each member will take turns playing the role of the Project Manager, Business Analyst, or random stakeholder. To make it easy, select a Project Manager and a Business Analyst for each week. Keep track of this list in document that the instructor can see at any time during this 10 week course.
