In today’s job market, employers expect their logisticians to be technologically savvy and able to utilize multiple software applications. In this Discussion you will research the job market for logistics professionals and learn about the hard and soft skills required for a career in logistics.

Go to Monster (Links to an external site.), USAJOBS (Links to an external site.), or Indeed (Links to an external site.), and search for job postings in the logistics field, using “logistics” or “logistics management” as your key search words. Read through up to a dozen job listings, noting the required skills for these position. Select one job posting that looks particularly interesting to you, and share your findings with the class in a 200 to 250 word post in the class discussion forum. Your post must include the following information:

• Job title
• Required duties
• Required skills, including at least one functional skill, one technical skill, and one “soft” skill
• Your best description of how these duties and skills support the company’s business goals and supply chain, and strengthen its competitiveness. You can make reasonable assumptions if an explicit description is missing in the job posting.
• Complete your post by reflecting on your own skills and experience, evaluating your strengths and weaknesses, and determining the skills you would need to be a qualified applicant for this position. Explain the best way (as you see it) to acquire and develop these skills.
