Global Drug Trade Analysis

How the global drug trade developed over the last 300 years and its relationship to globalization? The effects of the global drug trade on society, politics, economics, and history? Skills: The purpose of this assignments is to develop the following skills, which support the learning goals of the class. Use reason, evidence, and context to increase knowledge and to reason ethically, and to innovate in comparative thinking. Aid in ability to write effectively to achieve intended meaning and understanding. Work to understand, respect and interact constructively with other perspectives. Develop depth, breadth, and integration of learning for the benefit of themselves, their communities, their employers, and for society at large.   Task: The global drug trade has had a major impact on world history shaping the politics, economy and society around the world. You will be formed into a group, and using historical evidence that draws on class lectures, class discussions, and all assigned readings, your group will create a Sutori Project that incorporates the following question:   How has the global drug trade shaped human history?  This is a broad questions so you will need to focus on some aspect of the drug trade (A specific drug, a region, or a country etc.)   This project is broken down into two steps.     Step 1:  Decide which specific topic to pursue. Go to https://www.sutori.com/. Click on some of what the website calls a “story” and explore the different styles and approaches. Decide which the “stories” that you felt were most effective, and your might consider using as a model as you put together your virtual project.   When you’re ready to begin, create a project (story). To get started, you will need to sign up and create an account (the website takes you through those steps very easily).    Step 2:  Your project will consist of text and images and/or videos. You may pick the style of your project. You will need to use a minimum of 10 images (if using videos please contact instructor) plus an introduction, captions/descriptions (min 700 words). Pick images that highlight the main issues you are presenting on the impact of the global drug trade.
