Functional Patterns
Purpose: The purpose of this TBL is to increase ones knowledge of assessment utilization of Gordons 11 Functional Patterns for application in design of a health promotion activity. This book uses Gordons Functional Patterns to determine the health status of the individual (and families and communities, but for this exercise, we are only referring to individuals). Review chapter 6 starting with the section titled: Gordons Functional Health Patterns: Assessment of the Individual [page 134]. Review table 6 2. Directions: Discuss the results of your assessments for health promotion and health literacy and 1) identify which of the Gordons Functional Patterns may have been interrupted based on your results, 2) identify a health promotion activity that may be helpful to the person interviewed, and 3) discuss any cultural or health literacy needs to be considered when creating a health promotion activity. Complete the table below based on each students interview. It will be a comprehensive list that allows you to look at more than one person.
