Human Geographic Issue

With specific reference to a U.S. state, country or world region (e.g. Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, South Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, North America, etc.), write a 3 to 4-page paper (double-spaced, 12 point, 1 inch margin) that addresses a specific contemporary human geographic issue (though it may include a brief historical background) that falls within one of the following general categories: Ethnic/religious/political conflict (examples: Boko Haram insurgence in Northern Nigeria, Israel-Palestinian Conflict; The complexities surrounding the Syrian War). Economic sectors and Development issues (examples: An Assessment of Economic Prosperity in the United States, China’s economic growth: prospects and challenges, The U.S. services sector, and its contribution to economic growth. Environmental challenges (examples: The Problem of Deforestation in Brazil; Air pollution in Chinese cities). Food and Agriculture (examples, food insecurity in sub-Saharan Africa, Genetically modified food: a problem and a solution to food insecurity in a specific developing country or region? Agricultural systems in Oklahoma, economic prosperity?, The prospects and challenges of cattle  productivity in the midst of global warming: the case of Other Social/Cultural Issues (examples, Gender Inequality in Afghanistan, Population Implosion in Japan and its consequences; Causes and consequences of immigration to the United States; Social media: a double-edged sword?). Urbanization: (Public transportation in New York City, Suburbanization in the United States, its major advantages and disadvantages, The problems and possible solution to Urbanization in a developing country, for example, the problems and mitigation strategies to urbanization in Lagos, Nigeria/Dhaka, Bangladesh.   Structure Your paper should have an Introduction (20 points), Body (50 points), and Conclusion (10 points). Proper organization of materials, including paragraphing and citations (20 points).These sections are not necessarily labeled as such, but it should be clear to the reader where one section ends and the next begins. The Body may be further subdivided, highlighting the focus or topic of that particular section. The Introduction should contain at some point a clearly articulated thesis statement. The thesis statement indicates what issue or problem you are researching, why it is important, and (at least sometimes) how you intend to go about investigating the problem. The thesis statement should be closely related to the topic you have chosen. This work is to be a research paper. I am not interested in a “book report” which simply repeats information you have culled from the sources. Your paper should contain an analysis of the issue/problem addressed in the paper. Papers lacking this element will not receive high scores. Your paper should articulate salient points backed by evidences and examples/statistics and should be grammatically correct. (References must be cited in your paper and also in a list of references arranged alphabetically at the end). You should cite at least four works, including at least one scholarly work, to support your views.
