Organizational Structural and Cultural Challenges

The goal of the project is to identify the greatest structural or cultural challenge or problem the organization is facing and to develop reasonable solutions to remediate the problem and aid in the company’s success.    The written portion of the team project will be typed, double spaced, and numbered.  All sources used for the project will be noted and referenced.  Poor word construction and grammar will be noted in the final grade.  The term project is divided into the following parts:   i)               Problem Identification – Develop a 300 word (approximately 1.5 pages) self-reflective statement on a corporate problem in organizational behavior.  You will research and choose a company for this project in which you will analyze the organization’s structure and culture, identifying a problem you seek to solve.   ii)             Problem Relevance – The feasibility of the problem you have identified in part I of your assignment will be justified by a review of the company’s literature and news articles  – The Wall Street Journal is a good tool to gather this information as well as journal articles.   The problem of relevance should be covered in approximately 1000 words.   iii)            Problem Solutions-You will write 600 words (approx.2.5 pages) making suggestions drawing on the literature selected in part ii to solve the problem identified in part i.  If necessary additional sources can be researched.  The goal is to develop a persuasive and feasible solution that can be implemented and would be worthy of presentation to the CEO of your selected organization.  Your understanding of OB, analytical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills will be tested.   Your bibliography will not be included in the word count.
