Dynamic Games
Throughout this module, we studied dynamic games with perfect information and (or without) simultaneous moves. In this last section, we consider situations in which players can play a one-shot game repeatedly over time. Depending on players’ perceptions about the future, repeated games can have different predictions about society. Recently, we have witnessed the rise of civil rights movements around the world demanding equal opportunities to social justice, employment, education, health, among others. One thing that we have learned in this last section is that social norms can be sustained in a given framework if one finds the appropriate ingredients. People desire to live in a place in which the values of life and prosperity are sustainable. Could the theory of repeated games help us design societies that sustain those values? In this assignment, I am inviting you to discuss your thoughts as you reflect as an economist (or game-theorist) on the question above. A picture shows tow chat icons that intersect. 1.
