Systemic Racism

Research Paper Here are two essay prompts—pick one. See below for format requirements #1 Prompt: Is the disproportionate number of Black men in prison due to systemic racism? Yes or No? Must show a strong argument for or against. Must include the following THREE sources: NAACP (Criminal Justice Fact Sheet), The Sentencing Project, The ACLU (then you pick the rest – described below).  OR #2 Prompt: How severe is the problem of “youth suicide” in the United States? What are the SOCIETAL causes and what are the solutions? (Youth includes both children and teenagers.) Must include the following THREE sources: The CDC, American Psychological Association, and (search for) “A growing number of American teenagers—particularly girls—are facing depression.”  (Then you pick the rest – described below). Format Requirements: MLA format 12-Font Double-spaced Length – Exactly 3 pages plus a Works Cited page (4 pages total) 4-6 sources (I provided 3, then you need one more min (4) and you can pick up to two more (no Wikipedia). 3rd person, active voice (do not use: “I” “we” “our” “you”) No contractions (can’t, won’t, shouldn’t, couldn’t, isn’t, etc.) Underline thesis statement (for this class, must be the last line of the first paragraph).
