you will critically analyze the arguments surrounding genetically engineered babies, drawing on what youve learned up to this point about moral argumentation as it applies to bioethics, moral theories, and, specifically, what youve learned about this issue. The consists of three essays, each worth 60 points, for a total of 180 points. Each essay should contain 3-4 well-developed paragraphs, fully address the required prompts, and correctly use MLA or APA format where appropriate. First page What moral obligations do people have in relation to genetic information about potential diseases? Specifically, do we have a moral obligation to know that we potentially have a disease and do we have a duty to warn others? Make sure to explain the core moral concerns when answering the questions. Second page When do you think a doctor must keep genetic information private and when, if ever, do you think a doctor should reveal private information? Your answer should relate to the general moral concepts of paternalism, autonomy and confidentiality. Third page Do you think that genetic engineering of babies is morally acceptable? You may argue that some types are acceptable while others are not. However, it is important to be very clear in your answer. In the course of your answer, make sure to refer to information contained in the debate that you watched and also make sure to distinguish the different types of gene therapy.
