Peer Victimization

Throughout Week 6, you examined victimization. Theories of victimization were explored as well as consequences of victimization. For this week’s assignment, you will reflect on the media’s portrayal of crime and how it may contribute to victim blaming? It may help to identify a specific news segment, show, or movie. Think about how victims are portrayed? Are they blamed? Is there a discussion concerning why they were targeted? What consequences of the crime were revealed (financial, physical, emotional, psychological)?
