A Worn Path
After reading Eudora Welty’s short story, “A Worn Path,” you should write a short essay response for the discussion questions below.

4. During her lifetime, Eudora Welty was often asked if the grandson in the story is really dead. Welty said her best answer would be: “Pheonix is alive.” At other times her answer was: “It doesn’t matter.” What do you think she meant?
