Ad Analysis Advertisers frequently evoke an identity as they try to sell their products, be it soccer moms, ladies on a “girl-night-out,” football fans, athletes, etc. Paper 2 will ask you to find a group of ads that are aimed at a specific identity and then analyze how they use that identity to sell their product. The following tips will help you complete the assignment below: Focus on how the ads are targeting one specific audience Discuss how one or more particular elements of the ads (color, humor, slogan, etc…) contributes to the targeting of the specific audience Use support to back up each main point.
