Search the GCU Library and find two new health care articles that use quantitative research. Do not use articles from a previous assignment, or articles that appear in the Topic Materials or textbook. Complete an article analysis for each using the “Article Analysis: Part 2” template. Refer to the “Patient Preference and Satisfaction in Hospital-at-Home and Usual Hospital Care for COPD Exacerbations: Results of a Randomised Controlled Trial,” in conjunction with the “Article Analysis Example 2,” for an example of an article analysis. What is the main issue for your organization in addressing a solution   to evidence-based nursing practice? Discuss what might be the first   step in addressing and resolving this issue.

Find a concept within Watson’s Theory of Caring and a similar concept within any other nursing theory.  Compare the two concepts for similarities and differences. Use  references                                                        Initial Post My program is Nurse Educator and to do research on anything to do with this is a little difficult as there is not much information on it. I decided to do two types of searches based on how I might go with my master’s degree. The first search was nurse educators and what came up was an article on how to become a better nurse educator to nursing students. The most interesting statement made in this article hit close to home for me. “Teaching student nurses’ critical thinking and the ability to apply clinical reasoning skills remains a challenge in nursing education” (Wyngaarden, 2018). Being a nursing student is stressful but having to think outside the box but quickly can be even more difficult at times. Teachers are having a hard time connecting with students because not only is there a huge age gap between the student population but so many different learning barriers and language barriers they are trying to work around.  The second search I did was nurse educators to patients. I research this as well because I have also thought about being an educator to patients to have one-to-one conversations about their illness. I feel as though patients might listen and understand better if they are working with someone one-on-one rather than a different nurse/doctor every other day while in the hospital. While I was working for Shands, they had a diabetic nurse educator who would not only do education with the patients during their hospital stay, but she would go to the clinic and speak with patients. Once a month she would hold a newly diagnosed diabetes class for patients and then once a week she would hold classes on how to continue to control your diabetes. She would charge $5 for the continuing education class. The money that she would make from this would go to buying supplies to hand out to patients who did not have any or could not afford it.  For both searches, I used the Walden Library and found it to be the easiest way to look for my information. The Walden Library has a variety of articles/books/online journals to choose from. I will always recommend using the Walden Library for any type of research as this provides information from all over as well as the information is current.    References   Walden Library. Reply to my peer Peer 1  In healthcare today technology is constantly evolving and is used in the nursing field in many ways. Technology plays a big role in patient care, but the focus still must remain on the patient. Dr. Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring can be used in everyday interacting with patient care. “Technology’s use is not meant to replace the person-to-person interaction that is essential on any nurse-patient encounter” (McGonigle, 2018, p.528). While working and assuming care for a patient, nursing responsibilities should be focus on patient centered care. Technology is incorporated in nursing to make the nursing work more efficient and as a nurse we should remember the patient requires our focus for the best patient outcome. In the hospital we use a computer on wheels that is known as a wow.  All the documentation is done on this rolling computer device. I can access the patient medical records, chart, place orders, and scan medications with this computer. I try to read all I need to know about the patient including last doctors’ notes, recent labs, and medications. So, I have an idea of what to anticipate the patient needs will be and be able to answer questions the patient has before I enter the room.  In doing this in advance am more focus on the patient and not relying on the computer in the room. The patient will notice all the attention is on them. Sometimes having a small sheet of paper to take notes can be useful. Instructional techniques are utilized in both clinical and didactic elements of the nursing education courses. These are vital in ensuring clinical decision making and critical thinking ability (McGonigle & Mastrian, 2017).  The patient simulation ensures the development and application of knowledge and skills of nurses in a clinical condition. At the same time, they take part in the learning experiences meant to accomplish their educational requirement. I believe this is vital into the nurses gaining experience and refining their skills hence making them more competent in the field. The patient simulation, therefore, contributes to the safety of the patients and maximizes care results. According to McGonigle and Mastrian (2017), nurses utilize the simulation technological advancement for family and patients’ education through entering of the patient information into the database and giving proper medication according to what the doctor states like it is proposed in the database. In my experience as a nurse, I leverage simulation technology to ensure the clinical situations are understood, practised and controlled. I have utilized interactive videos which serve as a reproduction of reality that offers clinical situation replications. I have utilized simulation in medical situations that require comprehensible insights into the complex settings. It has enabled me to solve practical concerns efficiently and safely.
