Article Critique 2

I’m stuck on a Law question and need an explanation.

For this assignment, you are required to locate, read, and critique an article on either automated license plate recognition systems or one of several digital forensic investigative processes or models mentioned in the lecture. Then, assess the pros and cons of ALRs or a digital forensic investigative process or model.

The first major element of this assignment is, of course, the selection of a topic that is appropriate for the course or the audience. Next, you should identify the premise(s) of your argument in support of the article or refuting what the article purports. The next step is to apply a proper analysis, which is predicated upon some knowledge of the topic, and a review of literature containing contravening arguments made by other researchers or experts. This is followed by putting forth your critical evaluation of the premise(s) of the article under review and supporting your position supported by the literature. Some of the questions you could ask include the list below.

  • What biographical data about the author of the article is important?
  • What are the purpose, tone, and format of the article?
  • How can the work be interpreted?
  • Based upon your review of the literature, is there any information in the article that’s inaccurate or incomplete?
  • In what way was the article successful, or did the author succeed in what he or she was trying to accomplish?
  • How does the author fail? What did you find in your review of the literature that brings you to that conclusion?
  • Are there any historical, psychological, geographical, gender, racial, cultural, religious, or sexual considerations that have an impact on the article?

The article critique must be in APA style and include:

  • a title page in APA format,
  • an abstract in APA format,
  • content that begins on page three, and
  • the APA references page(s).

This assignment is a minimum of two pages of content, not counting the title page, abstract, and references pages.

Uber: The Evolution of Logistics/ Connecting Logistics and Financial Performance

I don’t understand this Management question and need help to study.

part 1

Prior to working on this discussion, watch the assigned Forbes video The Evolution of Uber (Links to an external site.). According to the video, Uber’s transportation services offered in the United States and abroad have changed the traditional perspective of logistics. In your post, describe the logistics activities and related services that Uber provides worldwide. Additionally, identify one of the three competitive strategies coined by Michel Porter and pursued by Uber (see Week 2 lecture notes and the assigned article, “Changing Patterns of International Competition,” 1986). Analyze the competitive strategy you chose by explaining why it is the right strategy for Uber. Comment specifically on how the strategy strengthens Uber’s competitive advantage in the global marketplace. Your post must be a minimum of 200 words.

part 2

For this discussion, you will play the role of a logistics analyst who is creating a report on the contributions of logistics activities to a company’s overall business performance.

Select any publicly traded company. Research this company’s website and relevant business documentation to evaluate the company’s performance and profit models, such as inventory turnover, return on assets, or other models that the company uses to measure its performance. Possible sources of information include the company’s annual report, income statement, or other financial documents that report the company’s revenues, expenses, and profits. These are usually published on the company’s Investor Relations page on their website. Additionally, Ashford University Library’s MergentDatabase is an excellent source for business information. To access the Mergent database:

  • Click on the “Find Articles & More” link in the purple banner at the top of the library home page.
  • Select “Databases by Subject.”
  • Choose “Business & Economics,” then click on “Mergent” on the following page.
  • Once in Mergent, enter the name of your company into the search box to get to the company overview page. Note that the search might show you multiple options, so click on the specific company you are searching for if a list is offered.
  • Select the “Company Financials” tab.

Identify two logistics-related activities the company utilizes to achieve its business goals. You may select, for example, the company’s inventory management system, warehousing operations, order management, transportation management, international logistics, or any other activities.

Your 200-250 word post must include the following:

  • Name the company that you chose and identify and describe the two logistics activities you selected that support the company’s supply chain and business strategies.
  • Explain how the company uses the total cost approach to coordinate the selected logistics activities in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Identify the tools and/or methods (as described in Chapter 4 of your textbook) that the company uses to measure the quality of its logistics performance. Describe one tool/method, and briefly explain what it measures and how it works.

Support your report with credible sources, citing from the company’s websites, business publications or articles, and assigned readings from this week. Reference them in your discussion post in proper APA style according to the Ashford Writing Center’s APA Essay Checklist for Students (Links to an external site.).

two quiz for introduction to statistic

I need support with this Statistics question so I can learn better.

You will need Minitab to take every quiz except the second one on Module 3. If a quiz indicates “Yes” under the column “Worksheet” in the table above, you must access the quiz from a computer that has Minitab installed on it. Remember that you will see the worksheet only after accessing the quiz and the clock starts ticking as soon as you access the quiz, but unless the computer has Minitab installed on it, the worksheet will not open. If you are going to use Minitab on the UConn AnyWare Desktop, you must launch a browser on the UConn AnyWare Desktop (as opposed to your physical computer) to log in to Husky CT and then access the quiz.

This is a speech.

I’m trying to study for my Article Writing course and I need some help to understand this question.

Pick a topic related to an aspect we have covered thus far in the course. It could be related to a discussion item, one of the questions or interest items in the book, or from an article or news item you have found related to one of the topics. Give a brief summary of the topic. How is it related to what we are studying? Why is it important and what are the implications? Simply covering those items should give you about 5-7 minutes of content.

Answer 3 questions

I’m trying to study for my Economics course and I need some help to understand this question.

1. The author mentions how taxpayers bear the burden of protecting homes in wildfire-prone parts of California. Explain why taxpayers ultimately bear at least some of this burden.

2. What is the endowment effect? Why does the author suggest it is a problem in the context of rebuilding after wildfires? How does the author suggest we should address the problem?

3. The author mentions that some would like to ban people from living in fire-prone areas entirely. Do you think an outright ban would be a better approach than imposing extra taxes or fees on people living in fire-prone places? Discuss what you believe are the relative advantages and disadvantages of these different approaches.
