Intro to family counseling

Need help with my Social Science question – I’m studying for my class.

You are conducting an initial family counseling session with the Robertsons. The family includes Dan Robertson (the father), Marie Robertson (the mother), and Peter Robinson (the 10-year-old son). The family has been referred to you for counseling. Dan is an alcoholic as well as a drug addict. His substance abuse has contributed to many family problems. You notice in the session that the only person talking is Dan. You also notice that when you encourage Peter and Marie to speak, they look at Dan prior to responding. Dan often interrupts and speaks for them.

Answer the following questions in 400-600 words:

  • Can you identify any possible signs of domestic violence from this initial session?
  • What subjective and objective measures would you take to identify whether domestic violence is occurring?
  • Describe the prevention methods that you would implement if domestic violence is not occurring, although you suspect that it could be.
  • Describe the interventions that you would implement if you confirm that domestic violence is occurring.

Distribution channel responses

I’m stuck on a Marketing question and need an explanation.

This is about distribution channels.

I just need a response to both questions in BOLD. They can be short answers no word count.

1. Our household and my daughters’ household are all Apple users. The main reason is they are on, “The Family” plan, which is still the best deal. After three years now they are finally transferring their portion of cost into my account every month. In past years we found the Apple Store to be an amazing experience. These worldwide stores were run like a well-oiled machine. Upon researching the topic I found this Business Insider’s article (2019), I found just the opposite. The blame as presented may be too much automation with the move to an iPad for check-out. It really was not a problem for me.

What are your thoughts?

Business Insider. (2019). I went to an Apple store for a repair and was shocked by how disorganized its shopping experience has become. Retrieved from https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-store-experi…

2. I must remember to contact you in the near future to help me do some research and make the SMART decision as you did on a new car. One of my customers in California is Tesla, managed by one of my executives in San Diego. I must admit the car buying experience that Tesla offers is completely different than the other car dealers. As more new E Vehicles are introduced by new manufacturers that buy our software for product lifecycle management it will be interesting what method of distribution they will select. The Tesla way based on purely simulation and test drive prior to order, or the more conventional distribution of selecting a car from the dealers’ inventory?

Do you think the Toyota dealers will change their distribution method as these manufacturers start selling the electrical vehicle experience?

Philosophy 424 Future of Humanity paper

I’m studying for my Philosophy class and need an explanation.

I have high expectations for these papers. They should substantial arguments. They should be thoroughly researched so that they demonstrate fluency in the related literature and counterarguments. They should be rigorously structured. They should your best writing. They should on time. The final paper must be a minimum of 4000 words. It is a good idea (but not required) to discuss your paper in person, via Skype, email, or something like that. I like to check in with everyone.

Read over some of my suggestions for writing a philosophy paper. Please take these especially seriously given the amount of freedom you have in writing this paper. It will also refresh your memory about HOW I GRADE THESE PAPERS. Make me proud with a full thesis and a clearly organized argument. The words “In this paper I will argue…” should appear in the first paragraph. Use The Chicago Manual of Style for your citations. Plagiarize and fail.

As we have seen through the course of our studies, much of the work of philosophy consists of asking the right questions. I encourage you all to conceive, fashion, and explore questions of your own creation, and therefore the suggestions below are genuinely mere suggestions. Use this as an opportunity to engage questions that you are curious and passionate about. Many of these topics will require some research, by which I mean going to the library and not just Google searching. I should be able to refer you to the most useful outside readings during our meetings. You may incorporate any of your writing from your previous response papers into your final paper, but don’t be tempted to use it just for filler to meet the deadlines. You may write on any issue related to the course and the texts we have read, so long as I approve the proposal. The topic may be narrow (Does the Labor Theory of Value fails to account for X?), broad (Is financial value in the process of overtaking all other value), concentrating on an author (Can Bentham measure happiness?) or an issue (What is the relationship between money and happiness?). I encourage you to design your own topic, but I offer the following suggested issues as samples to consider. Many of these questions would need to be worked up into full topics, but they provide something to work with.

Respond to Johnny:

Reviewing information and assessments of intelligence-led policing and intelligent-led corrections in response to terrorism have provided much insight on law enforcement and corrections operations as a whole. Terrorism has been a priority since the attacks on September 9/11 led to a heightened response to terrorism in American and the middle-east alike. According to research from the Criminal Justice Policy Review, post-9/11 era is experiencing a philosophical change that has expanded community and problem oriented policing to include broader philosophy of intelligence-led policing across America. Additionally, intelligence led policing is being enhanced by a number of federal law enforcement agencies while aggressively adjusting their tactics and operations to meet the diverse demands of national security in relation to terrorism (Carter & Carter, 2009). The implementation of intelligence led policing is comprised of four components which are, Organizational Realignment, Intelligence Cycle, Regional Operations and Intelligence Center, and Strategic Planning & Intelligence Driven Analysis. They all play a vital role in law enforcements ability to provide situational awareness while providing intelligence for strategic planning based on a creative intelligence driven analysis. Additionally it creates law enforcement priorities and the ability to critically allocate resources based on the intelligence analysis and terrorism threat (Fuentes, 2006). Looking at the approach based on the New Jersey Police Guide to Intelligence Led Policing one can relate it to any aspect of operations when pertaining to law enforcement or security. The idea is to know the threat capabilities, self-assessed vulnerabilities, comprehensive mitigation strategies, and available resources.

Leaders at all levels of law enforcement must understand that much of the operations pertaining to law enforcement and combating terrorism is driven by collective intelligence gathered by not only local law enforcement or its community but the information is connected nationally. Much of the problems that occurred prior to 9/11 pertaining to combating and mitigation of terrorism is that agencies simply did not share information which could have painted a larger picture and or stopped the attack prior to it happening (Brown, 2013). Although much of the intelligence begins with data it slowly builds up to be useful information in law enforcement. As stated by the New Jersey State Police that problems in the past have been contributed to law enforcement agents misusing official intelligence or misunderstood information gathered from the general public. Those mishaps have led to missed opportunities and an inability to correctly analyze data into useful information to combat terrorism (Carter & Carter, 2009). Ultimately the New Jersey State Police have painted a picture that clearly shoes information sharing, improved communication, and coordination of effort leads to more effective policing. The intelligence-led policing is a management philosophy which supports not only effective use of intelligence and coordination but also the allocation of resources which includes equipment and manpower. The key to intelligence led policing is to have an answer for targeted resource allocation to effectively combat crime, terrorism and other law enforcement concerns (Carter & Carter, 2009). I believe that utilizing the data and analyzing it correctly to create information that assists law enforcement operations is the key to mitigating threats and combating terrorism as a nation.

How did you go about learning

I’m studying and need help with a Management question to help me learn.

Throughout your career, your success will depend on you constantly being a learner, making choices about how to solve various problems—which tools to apply, including the theories mentioned in Chapter 2. However, one barrier to learning that all of us need to be aware of is our mind-set.

Reference:

What’s Your Mind-set? Two Views

  • The fixed mind-set—believing your basic qualities are carved in stone.People with a fixed mind-set are concerned about how they will be judged, as on intelligence or personal qualities. They believe, “My intelligence is something very basic that can’t be changed very much.” Or, “I’m a certain kind of person, and there’s not much that can be done to change that.” They care less about learning than looking bad when failure occurs.
  • The growth mind-set—believing your basic qualities can be changed through your effort.People with a growth mind-set are concerned with improving. They think, “You can always change your intelligence quite bit.” Or, “You can always change basic things about the kind of person you are.” Failure for these kinds of people may well feel bad, but instead of hiding their deficiencies from others they try to overcome them. Fortunately, by applying themselves, people of a fixed mind-set can develop a growth mind-set.

Answer:

Your approach to learning won’t stop once you leave school. Most organizations now are “learning organizations,” in which employees are continually required to expand their ability to achieve results by obtaining the right knowledge and changing their behavior. Thus, your mind-set matters. Which type are you? What can a person begin to do to move from a fixed mind-set to a growth mind-set?

I’m working on a Writing exercise and need support.

You will need to write a report addressed to a policymaker (of your choice; examples include but not limited to Secretary of Energy/EPA, Member of Congress, Head of Energy Company/Environmental Group, Equivalent of Secretary of Energy/EPA in foreign country, Head of World Bank). Topic: pick any policy issue related to an emerging energy economics topic that you think will be important in the future to policymakers. Assume your policymaker knows little about the issue but needs to make a decision. Note who is likely to favor and oppose the decision you recommend to the policymaker and why. January 6th & January 8th: BP (2018) readings may be a good starting point for a topic.

Collaborative Activity: Ethics of the Body—Mini-Literature Review

I’m working on a Writing exercise and need support.

This week’s collaborative project is a mini-literature review assignment, for which you will develop the following components. The mini-literature review will be developed using a topic you select that is related to this week’s study focus (i.e., Ethics of the Body).

Mini-Literature Review Components:
  1. Develop a Research Problem Statement.
  2. Develop a Research Question.
  3. Develop Literature Review (LR) Search Terms and Search Term Definitions.
  4. Execute a Library Literature Search
    • Find and select 3 choice social science research articles related to the Research Problem;
    • Briefly analyze the articles; and,
    • Record the search findings on a literature review matrix.
  5. Write a statement that synthesizes the 3 choice social science research articles.

Sunday through Friday, develop your individual Problem Statement, Research Question, and LR search. Group members should collaborate on the development of their own individual templates and participate in shared learning in order to accomplish the activities (for instance, the group can collaborate to explore and execute literature review searches using the Concordia University Library Catalog via a shared web-conferencing screen).

Individual project templates (including problem statement, research question, and search terms) may be similar, but submissions should not be identical for any group members. Use the following project template to record your mini-LR findings. Although you are collaborating with others for this assignment, you will submit your own unique project.

Discussion Topic

I need help with a Management question. All explanations and answers will be used to help me learn.

Respond to the following in a minimum of 100 words:

Monica
Gelabert Furet

Hello Class and professor!

I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays with family and friends! I believe that this week discussion impacts me in a personal level. Right now, I am transitioning from one position to another. I did find myself applying for other positions within my bank. These positions have requirements that must be met in order to at least qualify to have yourself consider for it. Personally, it is such a lengthy process and quite difficult to move within the bank.

· Compare pros and cons of developing talent in-house versus soliciting outside talent.

  • Pros:
  • One aspect of developing in-house talent is that the employee already has a background set based on the company itself.
  • As for outside talent, the hiring manager may have access to a bigger talent pool than what they have with their current employees.
  • Cons:
  • Outsourcing talent may be draining budget; but is also additional time in training to shape his new employee according to your company’s procedures.
  • But in-house development may be even a higher cost to the company. Salaries and benefits may be renegotiated; creating then a major expense. This process is usually a bit slower than outsourcing.
  • Hiring outside talent can make the training process longer due to assigning training material.

· Assess as an HR leader how you can help ensure training programs are relevant to business needs.

  • Training must be established by selecting either an in-house trainee or an outsource trainee. The convenient part of having an in-house employee is that most of the time and that training is already completed.
  • By having established what kind of training would be required then you can start by Identifying the company’s need and the position requirements
  • Lastly, I would have a variety of training and materials in different learning styles to create strong learning programs.

When it comes to being a HR leader, i would make sure that all employees and management are following the guidelines when it comes to the proper procedure for training and programs. By doing this, one way to ensure that the programs for training is done properly, installing the documents on the company website employee portal, having them under the “learning cart, and course requirements” would be the best option to have to make sure that everyone is following through with the correct procedure. Before that employee can close out their workforce, the management on duty will have to sign off saying that the training was completed. This way, this will make the management reliable. So if higher up management or HR would come in to question/quiz the employee on this program, they will be able to answer it correctly. Bringing experience from outside the company can be a breath of fresh air, particularly in a struggling business. Hiring an external candidate means access to a larger, more diverse talent pool. Often times, the company only has one or two qualified candidates for an open position, hamstringing them into choosing between two under qualified candidates. Hiring externally gives a company a chance for a fresh start.

Project Deliverable 2: Business Requirements

I’m working on a Computer Science exercise and need support.

This assignment consists of two (2) sections: a business requirements document and a Gantt chart or project plan. You must submit both sections as separate files for the completion of this assignment. Label each file name according to the section of the assignment for which it is written. Additionally, you may create and / or assume all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment.

Procuring quality business requirements is an important step toward the design of quality information systems. Completion of a quality requirements document allows user needs and expectations to be captured so that infrastructure and information systems can be designed properly. Using the requirements document provided in the course shell, you are to speculate on the needs of the company. You must consider current and future requirements; however, assumptions should be realistic and carefully considered.

Section 1: Business Requirements Document

  1. Write an eight to ten (8-10) page original business requirements document for the project plan using the template provided. Note: The template can be found in the Student Center of the online course shell.
    1. Describe the project including the following:

i.Describe the scope and analyze how to control the scope.

ii.Identify possible risks, constraints, and assumptions.

iii.Describe the integration with other systems and infrastructure. Note: Database and interface design, security, and networking should be considered.

iv.Define relevant terms that will be used throughout project.

    1. Use at least two (2) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

This course requires use of new Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). The format is different than other Strayer University courses. Please take a moment to review the SWS documentation for details.
