Help me study for my Writing class. I’m stuck and don’t understand.

1.Written Assignment 7

Lesson 6 provided guidance in methods for remaining current in your field or profession, such as joining professional organizations or networking. Do some additional research, focusing on your field of interest, and create a brief document of between 400 and 600 words (approximately 1-1/2 to 2 pages long) discussing specific ways that you could keep up with developments in your field.

Your assignment should indicate specific professional or trade organizations or publications, examples of networking opportunities, and suggestions for volunteer or interning possibilities. Before submitting your assignment, read over it to be sure that it is organized clearly. Also, be sure to properly document sources you found in your research and used in your written assignment

2.Written Assignment 5: Persuasive Speech Outline

The purpose of this assignment is to:

  1. Practice constructing arguments in support of a single proposition/thesis; in other words, use different types of evidence to “prove” a point.
  2. Use your understanding of your audience to adapt the arguments you construct.
  3. Use ethos, pathos, and logos to persuade.
  4. Improve upon your skills of organization and delivery.
  5. Practice oral communication skills.
  6. Take a strong side on an issue and present three to four reasons why you support or oppose this issue.
Instructions
  1. State and defend a controversial thesis statement. The key focus here is using your argumentation skills to support a statement that can be shown to be “true” or “false.” Be careful to avoid false reasoning.
  2. Find supporting materials. While this speech is representative of your opinion or position on the topic, your opinion is not enough to meet the standards of an argument. Find outside sources such as books, articles, websites, and interviews of experts on your topic. You must include a minimum of five outside sources for your speech; at least one must not be from the Internet. You will need to cite your sources orally during your speech. You want to convince your audience to accept your thesis. Therefore, you need to make a case in support of your thesis by using evidence. In general, evidence can be taken from your personal experience and your research (statistics, charts/graphs, examples, testimony, quotes, facts, etc.).
  3. Perform an audience analysis. This is a persuasive presentation. Speaking effectively is greatly dependent on how well you analyze your audience and adapt your speech to them. Reflect on the demographic of the class and think about their interest and knowledge of your topic. The more audience-centered your speech is, the stronger your effects on your listeners, which will, of course, be reflected in your grade. You should also use (but not solely depend on) “pathos” or emotional appeals to persuade your audience.
  4. Write an outline of your informative speech using the template below as a guide. Create a document that includes details for main and sub points. A persuasive speech has a desired outcome that demands a specific thesis. Be very clear on what you wish to persuade your audience to do or think. Using the template below, you should also include the following:
      1. Any key research or quotes (supporting material)
      2. At least five reputable sources for this speech (not blogs or unreliable websites)
      3. A bibliography at the end of the outline

Comparative Politics

I’m studying for my Political Science class and don’t understand how to answer this. Can you help me study?

For the course project, you will conduct research on a comparative politics project that will require you to write a 5-page research paper in which you analyze and discuss the impact of a major political, economic, and/or social issue in Mexico, France, China, or Iran, or the United States. In your research paper, you will also provide a recommendation to resolve the major political, economic, and/or social issue that you are addressing. Select only one foreign nation as your focus.

For this week’s project submission, you should draft a 1-paragraph paper to briefly discuss your intended topic selection and at least 5 credible and scholarly sources. As you select your topic, think of some issues that you find interesting, such as trade policies, language unity, gun control, immigration policies, labor movement, currency exchange, taxation, racism, income disparity, education rights, etc. Your topic selection should be no more than one paragraph, not including your list of references. In your paragraph, you should include why you are interested in this topic.

Note: Once you submit your topic, you should gather all of your resources and begin reading through them.

Race Discrimination Case

Help me study for my Management class. I’m stuck and don’t understand.

A hiring manager and his interview team narrowed a pool of applicants to two

final candidates. One candidate, who is white, had a really great interview and the
whole interview team agreed that he would be a great fit with the rest of the team.
He had a bachelor’s degree and five and half years of relevant experience. The other
candidate, who is black, also had a good interview, a bachelor’s degree and seven
years of relevant experience and had received numerous recognition awards from
previous employers for excellent performance. Both candidates met the minimum
requirements for the job in question, which included a bachelor’s degree and four
years of related experience.

During a closed-door meeting about the candidates with an interview team member
and the hiring manager, the hiring manager said that it would be tough to have
a black person on the team and that he thought a black person would be hard to
manage. He then said that he would ask the HR department to make an offer to
the white candidate and proceeded to complete the necessary paperwork. HR policy
stated that hiring managers must submit all documents pertaining to the hiring
process to HR for review and retention.

Before extending the offer to the selected candidate, the HR representative noticed
on the interview notes of the rejected candidate that the primary reason for not
hiring the candidate was “not a good fit for the team.” However, the interview
notes in response to each of the interview questions did not provide anything
specific about why the candidate would not be a good fit for the team. The HR
representative contacted the hiring manager and interview team to collect more
detail about the reason for not hiring the candidate who had more experience than
the selected candidate. The general consensus among the interview team was that
both candidates were qualified to do the job and both would have been fine choices.
However, many of them did agree that since the selected candidate enjoyed playing
golf in his spare time, he would be a good addition to the team. The interviewer
who heard the hiring manager’s racist remarks about the rejected candidate informed
the HR representative about the comments. Without documenting the incident,
the HR representative, who reported to the hiring manager, phoned the selected
candidate to extend the offer of employment.

Did the organization discriminate against the black candidate?

Is this a potential discrimination case? If so, what could the HR department have done to mitigate risk in
this case and/or what can they do to mitigate risks of this nature in the future?

Two journals

I don’t know how to handle this Writing question and need guidance.

1. Please complete an annotated bibliography for at least:

Please submit your entry as a Word Doc and insert them in the in the google doc “Class Annotated Bibliography” found in the Collaborations section. Please insert your source alphabetically.

An annotation is, basically, an evaluative summary. It is a coming to terms with the author’s project. Accordingly, you need to make sure you cover the following points (though you do not need to answer every question specifically). You might want to take a look at the google doc found in the collaborations section. I posted an example of an annotated bibliography entry that covers everything that is needed. Also, if you would like more info and some examples, explore the following link: Purdue Online Writing Lab: Annotated Bibliographies.

  • summarize the source:
    • What is the topic/subject/problem? What is the author’s project? What are some of the main claims and overall argument?
  • assess the source:
    • What kind of evidence/materials/examples are used? How well does the evidence work to support the author’s argument? What kind of methods, or methodology, is used? Especially in the scholarly articles, you should see a methodology explicitly stated.
    • Are there any specific strengths and weaknesses of the argument?
  • reflect on the source:
    • Will this source be useful to your research, why or why not? If you think the source will be useful, how do you see it working to shape your argument (i.e. how will you integrate it into your argument)? Has this source changed how you think about your topic?

    2. Self Assessment
This reflective assessment gives you the opportunity to look backward, forward, and inward as you think through your personal history with writing and reading, both in school and out of of school. Select from among the prompts you see below to generate this first document for your final ePortfolio. Requirements: 300 words minimum, multimodal
Guiding Prompts: You do not need to address all of the following prompts and questions, select those you find useful. -Your Writing Process: Describe the central strategies of your writing process. When and how did you learn them? How have they changed over time and what experiences have been most influential to you? How do you expect to use them in WR39C? Explain and use examples.-You and UCI: How have your experiences in your writing classes at UCI influenced your personal history as a writer in academic contexts? Has the WR39 series of courses influenced your ability to make effective choices about how to approach writing assignments in other classes? Assignments such as lab reports, business memos, blue book exams, short response papers, and any other examples of writing you have been assigned in here at UCI? In other words, have you applied what you learned in the WR 39 series to writing assignments in other classes? Have other classes and assignments influenced your writing process; if so, which ones? Please explain using specific examples. -Your Writing Outside of School: Has the WR39 series of courses influenced the strategies you use when you write or communicate outside of school, perhaps in your communities or in your extra-curricular activities? Are you using the same strategies in different contexts as you consider the demands of different situations, both in school and out? If so, please explain why, and give examples.

Please read the Chapters associated with this week’s discussion as well as Lecture. When you are done, conduct a critical review. ( budget)

I’m working on a Management question and need guidance to help me study.

Please read the Chapters associated with this week’s discussion as well as Lecture. When you are done, conduct a critical review.

A critical review evaluates the clarity, quality and originality of research, as well as its relevance and presentation. A good review carefully analyzes an article’s strengths and weaknesses before assessing its overall value. The purpose of the article review is to improve basic research skills and to allow students to become familiar with specific evaluation criteria for social science research and develop critical thinking skills.

As part of your initial post, conduct a search in the Library. Locate an article related to the week’s topic of discussions and lessons.

The article should have been published within the last 5 years (2016-2020) and be scholarly and peer reviewed in nature. So, when conducting a search in the Library Resources, you must limit the database search to “peer reviewed journals” only. http://www.uiu.edu/support/library/index.html

Your review of the article must be in your own words (250 words) and should include an assessment of the following (USE THESE SUBHEADINGS IN YOUR REVIEW):

  • Introduction
  • Methodology (research)
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Your concluding thoughts on the article as it pertains to the week’s topics and lessons

Your article must be properly cited and referenced at the end of the submission. You must include a proper URL or DOI for the article. See Reference List from electronic sources or publications: Purdue Owl APA

I don’t know how to handle this Management question and need guidance.

Use the video and the book chapter 1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZn0IfOb61U

There has never been a more exciting time to be a marketer. The advancement of technologies and data collection is allowing marketers even greater insights into consumer behavior. However, with increased opportunities come increased responsibilities for marketers to act in an ethical manner.

Our discussion board topic this week examines the role of ethics in marketing. In the following video, futurist Gerd Leonhard challenges us to consider the role of ethics in our digital world. Leonhard believes that, “Humanity will change more in the next 20 years than in all of recent human history.”

As you watch this video, think about how you will respond to this week’s discussion topic that asks, “How will digital technologies change the world in which we live, as consumers and marketers?” What ethical considerations are important for marketers to recognize? Cite at least two examples from the video in your analysis, and expand on ethical consideration with personal or professional examples.
