Pain Control with Hospice Patients

Can you help me understand this Nursing question?

The healthcare issue chosen is: Pain control of hospice patients. How are hospice patients’ pain control issues handled in the hospital, nursing homes and in a hospice house with both chronic pain and active dying pain? Most hospice patients in the hospital aren’t medicated appropriately.

Prepare a 6–10-page data analysis and quality improvement (QI) initiative proposal based on a health issue of professional interest to you. The audience for your analysis and proposal is the nursing staff and the interprofessional team who will implement the initiative.

In this assessment, you will propose a quality improvement (QI) initiative proposal based on a health issue of professional interest to you. The QI initiative proposal will be based on an analysis of dashboard metrics from a health care facility.

  • Analyze data from the health care facility to identify a health care issue or area of concern. You will need access to reports and data related to care quality and patient safety.
  • You will need to identify basic information about the health care setting, size, and specific type of care delivery related to the topic that you identify. You are expected to abide by HIPAA compliance standards.

  • Instructions

Analyze dashboard metrics related to the selected issue.

    • Provide the selected data set in the proposal.
      • Assess the stability of processes or outcomes.
      • Delineate any problematic variations or performance failures.
    • Evaluate QI initiatives on the selected health issue with existing quality indicators from other facilities, government agencies, and non-governmental bodies on quality improvement.
      • Analyze challenges that meeting prescribed benchmarks can pose for a heath care organization and the interprofessional team.
    • Outline a QI initiative proposal based on the selected health issue and data analysis.
      • Identify target areas for improvement.
      • Define what processes can be modified to improve outcomes.
      • Propose strategies to improve quality.
      • Define interprofessional roles and responsibilities as they relate to the QI initiative.
      • Provide recommendations for effective communication strategies for the interprofessional team to ensure the success of the QI initiative. Briefly reflect on the impact of the proposed initiative on work-life quality of the nursing staff and interprofessional team.
    • Integrate relevant sources to support arguments, correctly formatting citations and references using current APA style.

The bullets below each grading criterion further delineate tasks to fulfill the assessment requirements. Be sure that your Quality Improvement Initiative Evaluation addresses all of the content below.

    1. Analyze data to identify a health care issue or area of concern.
      • Identify the type of data you are analyzing (from your institution or from the media piece).
      • Discuss why the data matters, what it is telling you, and what is missing.
      • Analyze dashboard metrics and provide the data set in the proposal.
      • Present dashboard metrics related to the selected issue.
      • Delineate any problematic variations or performance failures.
      • Assess the stability of processes or outcomes.
      • Evaluate the quality of the data and what can be learned from it.
      • Identify trends, outcome measures and information needed to calculate specific rates.
      • Analyze what metrics indicate opportunities for quality improvement.
    2. Outline a QI initiative proposal based on a selected health issue and supporting data analysis.
      • Identify benchmarks aligned to existing QI initiatives set by local, state, or federal health care policies or laws.
      • Identify existing QI initiatives related to the selected issue, and explain why they are insufficient.
      • Identify target areas for improvement, and define what processes can be modified to improve outcomes.
      • Propose evidence-based strategies to improve quality.
      • Evaluate QI initiatives on the selected health issue with existing quality indicators from other facilities, government agencies, and non-governmental bodies on quality improvement.
      • Analyze challenges that meeting prescribed benchmarks can pose for a heath care organization and the interprofessional team.
    3. Integrate interprofessional perspectives to lead quality improvements in patient safety, cost effectiveness, and work-life quality.
      • Define interprofessional roles and responsibilities as they relate to the data and the QI initiative.
      • Explain how you would you make sure that all relevant roles are fully engaged in this effort.
      • Explain what non-nursing concepts would you incorporate into the initiative?
      • Identify how outcomes to measure the effect of the intervention affect the interprofessional team.
      • Briefly reflect on the impact of the proposed initiative on work-life quality of the nursing staff and interprofessional team. Describe how work-life quality is improved or enriched by the initiative.
    4. Apply effective communication strategies to promote quality improvement of interprofessional care.
      • Identify the kind of interprofessional communication strategies that will be effective to promote and ensure the success of this performance improvement plan or quality improvement initiative.
      • In addition to writing, identify communication models (like CUS, SBAR) that you would include in your initiative proposal.
    5. Communicate evaluation and analysis in a professional and effective manner, writing content clearly and logically with correct use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
    6. Integrate relevant sources to support arguments, correctly formatting citations and references using current APA style.

    Submission Requirements

    • Length of submission: 6–10 double-spaced, not including title and reference page.

Reply to Two Classmates Forum 1-Nutrition and Dietetics

I’m studying for my Nutrition class and need an explanation.

Responses 150-200 words, each student must respond to two other students. Responses must be BRIEF BUT SUBSTANTIVE to get credit.

Your responses should:

  • Greet a specific student or a group of fellow students by name.
  • Briefly remind us of what he, she, or they said with a very short summary of the idea they presented.
  • Include detail from our text and common reading as evidence for what you have to say (Remember that others will need to draw on our readings, too, so only use just enough information from our readings to make your point clearly).
  • Add new information to the conversation (we don’t want to be reading the same thing over and over).
  • Use class vocabulary [either common or technical vocabulary or both].
  • Clearly identify the source of information and evidence that you do use.

Be free of major grammatical errors and very coherent (easily and quickly understood and without contradictions)

Personal Philosophy of Education

I’m studying and need help with a Philosophy question to help me learn.

This topic brings you full circle. You have an understanding of historical events that occurred in early childhood education, as well as theories and philosophies that influenced educational models. You researched current trends and issues in order to develop an advocacy speech, as well as a professional growth plan. This information will assist you in creating your own personal education philosophy.

An educational philosophy is often part of a teaching application, which lets your future employers see your classroom management style without seeing you teach. Although your philosophy will be adjusted throughout your program as you learn more about young children, how children learn, and developmentally appropriate practice, your educational philosophy will serve as a foundation.

In 500-750 words, describe your current philosophy of education. Include the following concepts:

  1. Your belief about how learning occurs grounded in preferred theories and perspectives.
  2. An explanation of how your teaching style will facilitate students’ learning and develop the whole child. Include your philosophy on the integration of technology with instruction in the early childhood environment.
  3. Your beliefs about guiding children’s behavior and creating a welcoming learning environment.
  4. Steps you will take to collaborate with families and the community in the growth and development of young children.
  5. Ways in which you will create an inclusive learning environment.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the GCU Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

Eng1102 Complete a group discussion

I’m working on a English exercise and need support.

In Module 2, we will read the short story “A Good Man Is Hard to Find,” by Flannery O’Connor. After you have read the story–very carefully, if not multiple times, because 90% misread the story the first few times–then move on to the discussions and note that some of the discussion prompts will address the most misleading elements of the story.

Module 2 Discussion Topic

No unread replies.11 reply.

After reading the story answer one or more of the following questions. Then respond to a minimum of TWO other student posts:

Who is the villain in the story?

Who is the one religious person in the story?

Did the Misfit kill his father?

When does the Misfit make up his mind to kill the family?

Why does he call himself the Misfit?

What does the Misfit mean when he says “She would of been a good woman if it had been someone there to shoot her every minute of her life?”

From what point of view is it that the Misfit can be seen as the most important person the Grandmother has ever met and the one that offers her something that she has just about missed out on?

What is a “head doctor at the penitentiary”?

Although the Misfit himself does not know, what can we determine the prison psychiatrist meant when he talked to the Misfit about “killing his father”?

Which “father” was the Psychiatrist referring to?

Hope you can answer the questions seriously, thank you?

INfoTech in a Global Economy

Need help with my Computer Science question – I’m studying for my class.

There were several important themes in chapter 1. Here are a few quotes:

“Policy-making and its subsequent implementation is necessary to deal with societal problems.” (Janssen, 2015)

“Policy-making is driven by the need to solve societal problems and should result in interventions to solve these societal problems.” (Janssen, 2015)

“Examples of societal problems are unemployment, pollution, water quality, safety, criminality, well-being, health, and immigration.” (Janssen, 2015)

The author of chapter 1 discusses several developments that influence policy-making.Select one of the developments in chapter 1 and describe how that development can influence policy to solve a specific problem.

You must do the following:

1) Create a new thread. As indicated above, select one of the developments in chapter 1 and describe how that development can influence policy to solve a specific problem.

2) Select AT LEAST 3 other students’ threads and post substantive comments on those threads. Your comments should extend the conversation started with the thread.

ALL original posts and comments must be substantive. (I’m looking for about a paragraph – not just “I agree.”)

A New Deal

I need support with this History question so I can learn better.

When President Roosevelt (FDR) took office in 1932, in response to the economic crisis the country (the world for that matter) was facing, he said “We need to do something, if that doesn’t work, do something else, but for God’s sake, do something.” That statement says a lot about what FDR beleived about the role of governement in providing for the Welfare of the American people. What do you think he meant by that? What alternative (or polar opposite) position was he responding to? While we will revisit this theme again, what do you think the legacy of the New Deal is in social welfare and what is your opinion about the role of government?

Disscussion

I don’t know how to handle this Business question and need guidance.

For this assignment, list two to three business scandals or issues that interest you. The issues should be ones that can be framed in ethical terms or in terms of corporate social responsibility. For example, you may be interested in consumer privacy and wonder if it is acceptable for companies such as Amazon to collect and track your digital footprint for marketing purposes or you may be interested in the broader question of the purpose of a corporation: is it for shareholder wealth maximization or is it for the value of all stakeholders, not just shareholders?

Mini Case Analysis (MCA): Applying Lean Principles at SJSU

I’m working on a Management question and need guidance to help me study.

Mini Case Analysis (MCA):

Applying Lean Principles at SJSU

Given the current economic realities of most U.S. states, budgets of public college and universities (including SJSU) are being cut. SJSU faculty and staff are being asked to do more with less. Historically, when budgets got tight, the SJSU were able to ask for state funds and/or request raising the cost of tuition to students to cover any shortfall. This is becoming less of an option today, due to the already high cost of education and the amount of debt, in the form of student loans, the average college student is saddled with upon graduation. Additionally, the Governor’s office in the state of California has been reluctant to approve additional funds—in fact, it has instead cut state’s contribution to public education thereby complicating the situation.

SJSU is therefore looking for ways to cut costs while simultaneously improving the quality of the education. In some cases, SJSU have merged smaller programs; implemented larger teaching loads; delayed infrastructure improvements, maintenance, or major purchases; and increased class sizes. All of these changes in the long run will potentially make it more difficult to improve the quality of education a student receives.

At the same time, there is growing pressure from civic organizations, the U.S. Department of Education, and various state agencies for universities in the CSU system (including SJSU) to do a better job demonstrating results. Taxpayers and politicians are looking for the SJSU to show quantifiable improvements and results.

You have been assigned the role of a consultant with 10 years of experience working with organizations to implement lean techniques (refer to Chapter 16 of the text). You have a good understanding of the elements of lean-waste reduction, lean supply chain relationships, lean layouts, inventory and setup time reduction, small batch scheduling, continuous improvement, and workforce empowerment. You have been asked by the CSU chancellor’s office to recommend lean elements that should be applied to SJSU. In your report, please answer the following three questions (make sure to use table format for Q1 and Q2):

  1. What specific examples of lean principles (under each and every lean principle category) would you recommend as having the best chance of being successful in the university system, such as SJSU? Why?
