DDBA 8300 discussion board

I don’t know how to handle this Business question and need guidance.

Critical analysis is a crucial part of the literature review process, so it is important to understand their unique roles and impacts. How are these concepts different from one another, and how do they contribute to research development?

To prepare for this Discussion, consider the difference between reviewing the literature and creating a literature review, including how the process of synthesizing your understanding can impact both the literature review and your personal research philosophy. For this Discussion, locate a current business research study (within the last 5 years) from the Walden Library, and determine whether it is viable and substantive enough for inclusion in a literature review.

By Day 3

Post an evaluation of critical analysis within the context of a literature review, using your selected business research study as evidence for your assertions. Your evaluation should include the following:

  • Briefly describe the study’s key components, such as purpose, problem, framework, and findings.
  • Assess the study’s viability within a literature review, including characteristics like current knowledge, substantive data, and relevance. Be sure to include supportive examples.
  • Explain how critical analysis of the literature on your topic (problem/phenomenon) can inform your view of the problem and your ultimate research philosophy. Be sure to include supportive examples.

I’m trying to study for my Writing course and I need some help to understand this question.

The formation and implementation of the Internet has changed the way we do business, communicate, entertain, and access information. As noted in your reading assignments, the Internet might have never materialized if it had not been for several innovative thinkers from the Advanced Research Project Agency, who created “ARPAnet.” The Internet has since grown from the work of many people over the course of several decades. Few predicted how essential it would become to our lives or the ways that it would make us more vulnerable to cybersecurity threats.

In 200 word or more, please answer the following questions:

  1. How did the history of the Internet’s formation shape its security concerns today?
  2. How does the way the Internet is structured shape its security concerns?

Literature Review SLP 4 icloud

Can you help me understand this Business question?

Module 4 – SLP

Disruptive Innovation

During Module 4, your SLP assignment is to develop an annotated outline for chapter 2 – the literature review – of your project draft. This will consist of the headings in the chapter, and a brief description of each paragraph under each heading. This description should include the sources you plan to be using in that paragraph, as well as notes on any further material that you have not yet been able to obtain. It may be that some paragraphs in your outline will not draw on any particular sources; that is okay, as long as you explain the purpose of the paragraph in the context of the chapter as a whole. It may also be the case that you still do not have some sources necessary to describe how they will fit into the review. That is okay as well, as long as you note where you are missing information and present some ideas about how you are going to get it during the next couple of weeks. The aim is to present a full outline of your literature review, prior to actually writing all the paragraphs to be included in the draft.

It may be that you have already prepared some paragraphs to be included during previous parts of this project assignment. If so, those should be included in your outline.

SLP Assignment Expectations

Length: The written component of this assignment should be 3-4 pages long (double-spaced) without counting the cover page and reference page.

Organization: Subheadings should be used to organize your paper according to the questions.

Grammar and Spelling: While no points are deducted for minor errors, assignments are expected to adhere to standard guidelines of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence syntax. Points may be deducted if grammar and spelling impact clarity. We encourage you to use tools such as grammarly.com and proofread your paper before submission.

As you complete your assignment, make sure you do the following:

  • Answer the assignment questions directly.
  • Stay focused on the precise assignment questions. Do not go off on tangents or devote a lot of space to summarizing general background materials.
  • Use evidence from your readings to justify your conclusions.
  • Cite at least five credible resources.
  • Reference your sources of information with both a bibliography and in-text citations. See the Student Guide to Writing a High-Quality Academic Paper, including pages 11-14 on in-text citations. Another resource is the “Writing Style Guide,” which is found under “My Resources” in the TLC Portal.

Your assignment will be graded using the following criteria:

  • Assignment-driven Criteria: Student demonstrates mastery covering all key elements of the assignment.
  • Critical Thinking/Application to Professional Practice: Student demonstrates mastery conceptualizing the problem, and analyzing information. Conclusions are logically presented and applied to professional practice in an exceptional manner.
  • Business Writing and Quality of References: Student demonstrates mastery and proficiency in written communication and use of appropriate and relevant literature at the doctoral level.
  • Citing Sources: Student demonstrates mastery applying APA formatting standards to both in-text citations and the reference list.
  • Professionalism and Timeliness: Assignments are submitted on time.

GPP Written Assignment 2

I don’t know how to handle this Business question and need guidance.

Answer the following questions. Each of your answers should be an essay of 250 to 350 words (with a typical font and spacing this will be about 1 to 1-1/2 pages).

1. A small time crook is being interrogated by a policeman. The crook committed a petty crime, but everyone knows that gathering sufficient evidence to prove it will be time consuming for the police. The policeman tells the crook that if she doesn’t confess, he’s going to spend all of his time making sure that she gets the harshest sentence possible. The crook, in light of the threat, confesses. Analyze these game strategies. Verify that this scenario represents a Nash equilibrium, provided that the policeman would actually follow through with his threat. Now verify that the subgame-perfect equilibrium is for the crook not to confess and for the policeman to go back on his threat. That is, explain why the policeman’s threat is actually not credible.

2. Prisoner’s dilemma situations arise frequently in life. Begin your answer to this question by providing a full explanation of what the prisoner’s dilemma is. In your life, it is likely that you have played such games and in some cases, you found a way to cooperate with the other player. In other cases, both of you betrayed each other. Consider examples of each situation and ask yourself: What made the difference? When were your strategies effective, and when not?

3. You and a friend are selected as contestants on game show. You each must pick a whole number from 1 to 7. You will pick an odd number, and your friend will pick an even number. If the numbers you pick are consecutive, such as 5 and 6, then you each win $1,000. If both you and your friend understand weakly dominated strategies, you’re guaranteed to win the money. How? If you and your friend both understand IEDS for weakly-dominated strategies, you can win the money every time, even if the numbers are selected from 1 to 100, with you choosing odd and your friend choosing even. How?

Hidden Brain: Slanguage (Episode 57) or… “Why It’s Literally Not Wrong to Say ‘Literally'”

After listening to the podcast above, 1. comment on two of the questions below and 2. link to a relevant video, article, blog, etc.

You are required to cite your textbook with in-text citations in APA Style to support your answers.

  • Dr. McWhorter argues that “it’s the nature of human language to change. Each generation hears things and interprets things slightly differently from the previous one.” Give an example of something you interpret differently than someone in another generation. Is one way of interpreting that word or phrase more “right” than the other? Why?
  • Dr. Schwartzman explains that “important concepts and customs within a culture become embedded in its language” (p. 65). Give an example of how your own culture impacts the way you use language.
  • After listening to Dr. McWhorter describe how language changes from generation to generation, do you think Dr. Schwartzman’s statement that “meanings are created, not found” (p. 22) is true? Why or why not?

Find Trends in Your Profession

Transcript

It’s Monday morning and CyberTech branches in multiple cities are about to teleconference with executives from the main office. Your coworkers are buzzing. What’s this about, asks a coworker. I’m not sure. They just called the conference a few minutes ago, says another coworker. We’re on with the San Francisco office, says a third coworker. OK, shh, they’re starting, says one of the coworkers. Good morning. Let me get straight to the point. Our chief information officer is no longer with us. We will be looking for a replacement, but we need to do some preparation first. I’d like your team to do some research on emerging trends in our industry. We know the questions we’ll ask, but I’ll need specific info from your team on trends to make sure candidates are giving us the right kinds of answers. For example, what would each candidate do to prepare for the risks to our networks? Have they thought of mitigation strategies? What tools would they use? What are the policies, techniques, and compliance needs we should consider? One last thing, I’d like you to share your findings at our upcoming planning meeting. You glance at your team and think, this is a big assignment. Your information sources are important, so I want you to keep track of your sources. Good luck. After the meeting, your team gathers near your desk to talk. Guys, the CEO basically just asked us to help hire our new boss, says a coworker. I guess she did, didn’t she? We have our work cut out for us, says another coworker. You join your team in excited discussion about this new assignment and volunteer to start the reference list so you can keep track of your sources. You’re going to get started later today.

In this project, you will search for information that will enable you to identify three top trends in your profession or field. Over the course of the project, you will exercise information literacy skills as you locate and evaluate information and develop well-reasoned conclusions. Reviewing the many sources available to you, you will choose those that are relevant, timely, and helpful to your quest to understand the issues of your industry. Once you have identified the top trends, you will choose one that is particularly interesting to you or one that you think is the most problematic, and research more deeply to produce an analytical research paper for your team. Your project is intended to prepare the search committee on the issues so that it is well-prepared to interview candidates. This project will prepare you for more complex research projects, as you will refine and hone your ability to create a statement of the problem and find the information you need to produce a well-reasoned, well-supported analysis.

There are four steps that will lead you through this project. Begin by watching the video above, which introduces the project as it might occur in the workplace, and then continue with Step 1: Conduct Research.

When you submit your project, your work will be evaluated using the competencies listed below. You can use the list below to self-check your work before submission.

Your work will be evaluated using the competencies listed below.
