Question: 5 interview questions you feel you will be asked during an interview for a professional role or a role within a hospital
Tell me about yourself.
Give a broad overview of your work/educational history and throw in something outside of the job that youre passionate about to let them know youre interesting, not just qualified.
What made you interested in working here?
Be honest and show that you did your research. Always look up the company you are going to interview with. This shows that you are interested in the position and not wasting time.
Whats your biggest strength?
Choose a strength that aligns with what theyre looking for in an ideal candidate. (Reference the job description!) Always remember when interviewing with different hospitals your strengths may change depending on the job description you are interviewing with.
Whats your biggest weakness?
Be cautious but honest and let them know how youre trying to improve. Dont answer this question with a cop out answer such as Im a bit of a perfectionist. Be honest with this answer as you could be working in a position that may strengthen your weakness.
What are your career goals?
With this answer you don’t have to get into your 30 year plan, but provide focus on the near future and incorporate the employer in those goals.
When I was hired in my current position of Supervisor these were the standard questions that I received. They don’t stray too far from any other industry but they seem to help narrow your qualities.

Critique your Qualitative Research Positionality
I need support with this Writing question so I can learn better.
Using reflective writing as a critical thinking process, consider your researcher positionality as a doctoral-level qualitative researcher and offer a reflective discussion that encompasses four to five paragraphs:
- After reviewing the Week 8 Resources and Figure 8.1, use writing-as-inquiry to reflect on the aspects of yourself as a scholar and qualitative researcher and begin to articulate how you would describe your own researcher positionality.
- Review the five-course learning objectives (CLOs, see them listed again below) and assess the new learning you have gained in this course and how you will apply it to your future qualitative research design.
- Reflect on the gains and challenges in this course experience, and evaluate the current state of your ability to offer a substantive rationale for the choice of the qualitative method for doctoral-level research and the justification of a specific qualitative research design to explore a focused educational problem.
- Finally, consider the additional development you will need as you continue your coursework and your development as a doctoral qualitative researcher and your researcher positionality.
Length: 4-5 paragraphs (11.5 pages)

English: Rhetorical Analysis Paragraphs
I dont know how to handle this English question and need guidance.
You may have at some point in your life heard the word “rhetoric” used in the world of politics. Usually, when the word is used in terms of politics it has a negative connotation (a meaning more specific than it’s denotative meaning). Someone might say, “I don’t believe anything this president says. It’s all just rhetoric.” By this, they mean the politician’s words are an attempt to disguise the actual meaning or that there is no real meaning at all. However, the denotativemeaning of “rhetoric” is: the art of persuasive speaking or writing. In other words, it is the craft that goes into communication, whether that is persuading your friend to go out to the club, persuading your boss to give you a raise, or persuading your reader that the central argument of your essay is valid.
It is important as a developing writer to understand the techniques of academic writing (rhetorical devices) so that you can employ them effectively in order to prove the arguments you will make in your essays (and get a good grade). One of the best ways to continually learn the effective use of these techniques is to identify their use by published authors in the material you are asked to read for class. At the same time, you will not only be learning how to use rhetorical devices, you will also be better able to analyze the content of the work itself and evaluateits validity.
Here are some important areas to consider when analyzing an author’s rhetoric (we will discuss more techniques as the semester progresses):
Tone: a)The mood of a piece established by the author; b) The attitude of an author toward a given subject. When discussing an author’s tone, be as specific as possible with the words you use. For example, to say a tone is “angry” is not as specific as saying it is “frustrated” or “bitter”. In other words, what kind of “angry” is it?
Here is a link to a list of words you can use to describe a writer’s tone (or feel free to search for others online): Words to Describe a Writer’s Tone (Links to an external site.)
Diction: a)Word Choice – what specific words does the author use to create analogies, make subtle connections, or offer imagery? Take this line from the Gladwell piece: “The practice of prying into the minds and habits of American consumers is now a multi-billion dollar business” (94). The word “prying” has a connotation of doing something bad, like a criminal using a crowbar to pry into a locked door. This word adds more meaning to the sentence rather than just saying “look into”. b)Overall Language – does the language in the piece seem Formal(complex vocabulary, grammatically and syntactically correct according Standard Academic English)? Or does the language seem Conversational (using language that is common in everyday conversation)? Or does the language seem to employ Slang (very informal language that is usually only understood by a specific group of people).
Write two paragraphs (one on tone and one on diction) analyzing Steve McKevitt’s use of rhetoric in “Everything Now” (123). Use multiple examples to support what you say about the author’s use of tone and diction in their separate paragraphs. Be sure to explain what you think the effect of the author’s use of tone and diction is after giving examples.

Which Chanel is Best?
I dont know how to handle this Communications question and need guidance.
For this assignment, think back of a time where you think you used the wrong channel to convey a message to someone in your life. Examples could be sending a text message to break up with someone, or emailing a boss when in both situations you should have talked to them face to face.
In a 2-page paper, written using appropriate spelling/grammar, address the items below. Remember to be descriptive, and use as much detail in your examples as possible.
- Describe the relationship you have/had with the person in the interaction.
- Explain which channel you used initially and why you think it was the wrong means to communicate with them.
- Explain which channel would have been better for the situation and why you think it would have been more effective.
Evaluating speeches
Im working on a Writing exercise and need support.
Evaluating speeches
No unread replies.No replies.
Now that we are done with the basics of communication as it applies to public speaking, this week we are getting into all the fine details … structure, outlining, delivery, presentation skills, word choices, language, etc. that can separate an okay speech from a great speech.
We refine our public speaking abilities through a mixture of instruction, practice, and imitation. As such, critically examining other speeches provides you another venue for thinking about how to adapt to different rhetorical situations. When we get into the persuasive and advocacy rounds, you will be required (and graded on) evaluating each other’s speeches (on paper and/or in a verbal critique after the speech – the ability to articulate a point in just a few seconds can be vital to surviving in the current employment market). So now is a great time to start practicing those evaluation skills.
For this assignment, we are going to start critically evaluating speeches. This will require 2 posts on your part (and watching at least 1 new TED talk).
- #1 Your initial post (1.25pts): Since you’ve already watched the speech you posted, that one should be easy. Go back to the TEDtalk you posted in last week (if you missed last week’s homework, you will have to go back and read it to know what we did). In your post for this week, re-post the link to the TEDtalk you posted last week but this week, rather than summarize, you need to evaluate the speaker’s delivery/performance (evaluate the speech, not the message!). Remember to provide the title and a WORKING LINK to the talk you evaluate in your post. For evaluation criteria see below.
- #2 Respond to one peer (0.75pts): Respond to one other person’s post, evaluating their posted TEDtalk (yes, you will need to watch their TEDtalk as well, you cannot evaluate the same speech that you responded to last week). Did you see things differently than they did in their evaluation? Do you agree or disagree with with their assessment of the speaker’s performance? Why or why not?
————————————————————————–
Criteria for evaluating speeches:
For this week, we are going to keep it really open-ended…. in your responses, discuss the following (350-500 words total)
What the speaker did well:
Most of these speeches have been practiced and refined over and over and over. What do you think the speaker did well? Did you learn anything by watching this speech (not about the topic, but about giving speeches)? Any tips or tricks that you may want to emulate in your own speeches?
What the speaker could still work on:
Every individual audience member will see/hear/interpret a speech in their own way. And, there is almost always room for improvement. If you were hired to give the speaker tips, is there anything you would tell him/her to do differently? Did you find anything distracting about the speech and/or delivery that you felt distracted from the message?
Things you may want to consider during your evaluations (which we will be covering in class all week). You can’t possibly talk about all of this in 350-500 words, these are just some suggestions for things you may want to look for, think about, and/or evaluate:
Introduction Gained attention & interest Introduced topic clearly Related topic directly to audience Established credibility & goodwill Previewed main points Body Main points clear & fully supported Organization well-planned Language clear & audience-focused Language vivid Effective connectives Conclusion Prepared audience for ending Reinforced central idea Vivid ending (closure/finality) |
Delivery Maintained strong eye contact Effective posture, movement & gestures Avoided distracting mannerisms Articulated words clearly Used pauses effectively Effective vocal variation Communicated enthusiasm for topic Ended speech without rushing Visual Aids Prepared visual aids well Smoothly integrated aids Overall Evaluation Topic challenging Specific purpose well-chosen Clear audience adaptation |
