NHS-FPX6004 – Assessment 3 Instructions: Policy Proposal Presentation

I need help with a Nursing question. All explanations and answers will be used to help me learn.

  • Prepare a presentation of the policy proposal you developed in Assessment 2 for one of the stakeholder groups identified in your proposal. Inform the group about the future of organizational policy and practices, the current performance shortfalls, and the rationale for why the new policy and practices are needed. In addition, explain how the group will benefit from this change in order to obtain their buy in and support.

    Introduction

Note: Each assessment in this course builds on the work you completed in the previous assessment. Therefore, you must complete the assessments in this course in the order in which they are presented.Improving quality and outcomes is a key focus for health care organizations. With a focus on quality, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) publish publically reported data online and update it quarterly, which allows patients to compare hospitals on a wide range of metrics. These metrics can also be used to inform policy changes at local, state, and federal levels. It is important that health care leaders be able to clearly articulate policy positions and recommendations and garner buy in and support from stakeholder groups for policy and practice changes in their organizations. Unfortunately, there is often a lack of effective communication. Consequently, it is important for health care leaders, when leading change, to ensure that clear and open communication is ongoing and informative. An important aspect of change leadership is the ability to address diverse groups of stakeholders and create buy in and support for your ideas and proposals for change. This assessment provides you with an opportunity to demonstrate and hone these skills.

    Demonstration of Proficiency

By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:

    • Competency 1: Analyze the effects of health care policies, laws, and regulations on organizations, interprofessional teams, and personal practice.
      • Analyze how proposed institutional policy or practice guidelines related to an existing health care policy or law would impact a stakeholder group.
    • Competency 3: Lead the development and implementation of ethical and culturally sensitive policies that improve health outcomes for individuals, organizations, and populations.
      • Propose an institutional policy or practice guidelines related to an existing local, state, or federal health care policy or law.
      • Advocate for how the proposal would improve quality and outcomes relevant to the stakeholder group.
    • Competency 4: Evaluate relevant indicators of performance, such as benchmarks, research, and best practices, for health care policies and law for patients, organizations, and populations.
      • Interpret for stakeholders the relevant benchmark metrics that illustrate the need for a policy or practice guidelines.
    • Competency 5: Develop strategies to work collaboratively with policy makers, stakeholders, and colleagues to address environmental (governmental and regulatory) forces.
      • Propose strategies for collaborating with a stakeholder group to implement and apply proposed institutional policy or practice guidelines related to a local, state, or federal health care policy or law.
    • Competency 6: Apply various methods of communicating with policy makers, stakeholders, colleagues, and patients to ensure that communication in a given situation is professional, clear, efficient, and effective.
      • Apply persuasive and effective communication strategies when presenting to a group of stakeholders.

    Preparation

The policy proposal you developed was well received by senior leadership. As a result, they have asked you to put together a presentation for one of the stakeholder groups that you identified in your proposal.Your deliverable for this assessment is a slide deck to support your presentation. You may use Microsoft PowerPoint or any other suitable presentation software. Please use the notes section of each slide to develop your talking points and reference your sources, as appropriate. If you choose to use PowerPoint and need help designing your presentation, you may wish to explore the Guidelines for Effective PowerPoint Presentations [PPTX] and Record a Slide Show With Narration and Slide Timings resources. If you need any additional guidance for recording a presentation in Kaltura, the Using Kaltura [PDF] resource may be helpful. The Building Buy In and Communicating With Stakeholders | Transcript media piece may help to provide context for you presentation or refine your communication strategy for specific stakeholders. The design and organization of your presentation will determine how many slides you need. However, in this instance, senior leaders have suggested that 8–12 slides is a reasonable expectation for this presentation.

    Presentation Design Tips

Being able to effectively address any audience is a necessary leadership skill. Remember that you are the speaker, not a projectionist. Your purpose is not to present a slide show. Your audience is there to listen to what you have to say, not read your slides—or worse, listen to you read them. Design your presentation slides to compliment and reinforce your message and engage your listeners. The following tips will help you create presentation slides that work to your advantage:

    • Focus on the content of your presentation and the development of your main points. Remember that your purpose is to deliver a message on ethics that is clear, well organized, and engaging.
    • Consider your intended audience and how best to communicate effectively with them.
    • Create slides that support your presentation. They should not be your presentation.
      • Use a professional presentation template, or one used in your organization.
      • Ensure that your slide background provides sufficient visual contrast for your text and graphics.
      • Avoid filling your slides with text. Use speaker notes to record the details you want to communicate to your audience.
      • Be judicious in your use of bulleted lists. Consider a separate slide for each point.
      • Use images and graphics, when appropriate, to illustrate information and make your points. Presentation slides are a visual medium. Images are more effective than text at capturing viewers’ attention.
      • Avoid using images that are simply decorative. They can be a visual distraction and do not contribute to your message.
      • Avoid using flashy slide transitions and animations. They can be both distracting and annoying. Keep your slide transitions consistent throughout the presentation.
      • Add a slide to the end of your presentation to prompt questions from the audience.

    Instructions

Note: The tasks outlined below correspond to grading criteria in the scoring guide. In your presentation, in an order that makes sense for your presentation, senior leaders have asked that you:

    • Interpret for stakeholders the relevant benchmark metrics that illustrate the need for a change in organizational policy and practice.
      • Provide a brief review of the metrics you are trying to improve for this stakeholder group, based on the dashboard benchmark evaluation you completed in Assessment 1.
      • Be sure to interpret the dashboard metrics in a way that is understandable and meaningful to the stakeholder group to which you are presenting.
    • Explain your proposed change in policy and practice guidelines and how it relates to applicable local, state, or federal health care laws or policies.
      • What specific changes are you proposing?
      • How will these changes help drive performance improvement?
      • Why are policy and practice guidelines important, from an organizational standpoint?
      • What is the overall goal of the proposed policy or practice guidelines?
    • Explain how your proposed change in policy or practice guidelines will affect the tasks and responsibilities of the stakeholder group to which you are presenting.
      • How might your proposal change what tasks the stakeholder group performs or how they currently perform them?
      • How might your proposal affect the stakeholder group’s workload?
      • How might your proposal alter the responsibilities of the stakeholder group?
      • How might your proposal improve working conditions for the stakeholder group?
    • Explain how your proposed change in policy or practice guidelines will improve the quality of work and outcomes for the stakeholder group to which you are presenting.
      • How will your proposed changes improve the group’s quality of work?
      • How will your proposed change improve outcomes for the group?
      • How will these improvements enable the stakeholder group to be more successful?
    • Explain your strategies for collaborating with the stakeholder group to implement your proposed change in policy or practice guidelines.
      • What role will the stakeholder group play in implementing your proposal?
      • How could the stakeholder group collaborate with you and others during the implementation of your proposal?
      • Why is the stakeholder group’s collaboration important to successful implementation of your proposal?
    • Design your presentation to be persuasive and effective in communicating with the stakeholder group.
      • Is your presentation logically organized, clear, and professional?

    Additional Requirements

    • Format and length of presentation: A PowerPoint Presentation containing 8–12 slides.
      • Recorded audio of you presenting your PowerPoint that is targeted at key stakeholders in your audience.
      • If you have technical difficulties in recording your audio, you may instead include a full script of what you intended to say in the notes section of each slide in place of recording audio.
    • Number of references: Cite a minimum of 3–5 sources of scholarly, professional, or policy evidence to support your analysis and recommendations.
    • APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to current APA style.

Submit your PowerPoint presentation and any other necessary documentation or links (if you used other technology) when you turn in this assessment.

write an essay about early childhood education

I’m studying for my Writing class and need an explanation.

Write about the expansion of access to preschool in California. First, it’s important that you show your knowledge of the issue. Begin by reading this article (I uploaded it), then summarize it. Locate one other news source that also addresses the expansion of access to preschool in California. Save a copy of it (send this to me), and compare and contrast its reporting to the article in the Bee.

After doing this, explain your personal perspective on expanding early childhood education. (You’re not for or against it, because it’s likely happening. You’re taking a position on how it should look and why.) How do you think early childhood education should look? Why? What developmental theory/theories would support this approach? What concerns do you have about the expansion of access to early childhood education (i.e., what concerns you about the policy proposed in the initial Sacramento Bee article)?

Your submission (in APA style [yes, this includes font and line spacing]; no more than 2 pages, no shorter than 1 page) will include

  1. A one-paragraph summary of the article from the Sacramento Bee. This summary should be entirely in your own words (no quotations!). Let us know what is being proposed, why it’s happening, who is advocating for this, how the changes will happen, and when it’s expected to happen (10 points).
  2. Your summary of another news article that reports on the issue. How is the reporting similar to the required article from the Bee? What differences are evident? Include an uploaded .pdf of the article with your assignment submission (4 points).
  3. One paragraph summarizing your perspective on the issue. How do you think early childhood education should look? What developmental theory (Freud, Erikson, Behaviorism, Piaget, information processing, Vygotsky, the zone of proximal development, evolutionary theory) most closely aligns with your perspective? What connections do you see between the issue at hand and topics that we’ll discuss in class? What concerns do you have about the proposal as it’s outlined in the initial reading (4 points)?
  4. Provide an APA-style reference list at the end of your paper. Include the Sacramento Bee article, your textbook, and the additional article that you found (references never count toward page limits; 2 points). This sample paper might help (I uploaded it as well).

I’m working on a Psychology exercise and need support.

Discussion

Apart from suffering from recurrent and prolonged infections, Marie Curie also experienced the following signs and symptoms: fatigue, rapid heart rate, pale skin, easy bruising, prolonged bleeding from cuts, and dizziness. Bone marrow transplant was not an option at that time and so blood transfusion was the treatment of choice.

Explain the reasoning behind these other signs and symptoms that Curie experienced. Assume her blood group was A negative. Which blood groups can she receive? Which blood groups can she not receive? Explain why.

Be detailed in your explanation and support your answer with facts from your textbook, research, and articles from scholarly journals. In addition, remember to add references in APA format to your posts to avoid plagiarism.

Comment from peer

Marie Curie experienced fatigue, rapid heart rate, pale skin and dizziness because she was diagnosed with aplastic anemia. Aplastic anemia is a condition when your body stops producing new blood cells. There are other ways of treatment but considering blood transfusion was the only choice, “it was to control the bleeding and relieve anemia symptoms” (Mayo Clinic). Complications can also arise with multiple transfusions even though there is really no limit, it can damage the body when there is an iron overload that is not treated.

A- can receive blood from both A- and O- because O- is a universal donor, and A- has the same antigen. But A- can give to A- and A+ and AB- and AB+. She cannot receive from other groups other than O- and A- because they have specific antigens. Since she is A-, A blood type has only an A antigen and O blood type has neither A or B antigen. She cannot receive from O+, A+, B-, B+, AB-, AB+ because her body will fight against the antibodies.

Write a short essay about the impact of reading upon your life.

Need help with my Writing question – I’m studying for my class.

Assignment: Write a short essay (500-750 words) about the impact of reading upon your life. A literacy essay explores one’s growth as a reader. Don’t confuse “literacy” with “literature.” The goal is to come up with a thesis that states how one specific text, or perhaps a series of them, or just the written word in general contributed to your personal development.

Literacy narratives can often have slightly different focuses, so you have a small amount of room for creativity, but they do deal with detailing a person’s path to reading and writing (education and experiences as a reader) and/or the impact that reading and writing has on their lives. Keep in mind that the focus here is on “literacy” (more the act of reading and/or writing) and not as much on “literature” (which we’ll be talking about in class). Your literacy narrative can involve your experiences with various “great” books, but it will more likely encompass your experiences with a variety of texts, from internet reading, to newspapers, to comic books, to whatever you tend to read or even write in your spare time.

Regardless of how you organize the paper, the final draft of your paper needs to be typed, double spaced, and in 12 point font with one inch margins. Your name, the instructor’s name, the course number, and date need to be in the upper left hand corner of the first page. Your last name and the page number should appear in the upper right hand corner of each page (technically it’s optional on the first page, but should definitely be on additional pages). See page 488 in A Writer’s Reference for an example.

Criteria Ratings Pts

This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeIntroIntroduction
Introduction: You set a context for why it’s important to discuss the place of reading and writing in our lives. How has your experience in these areas shaped your values? What can other people learn from the story you have to tell? You may use a specific anecdote or episode from your life to illustrate your point.

15.0 pts

This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeThesisThesis: You state in 1-2 sentences your main idea. The thesis is the culmination of your introduction.

15.0 pts

This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeOrganizationOrganization
You have two options for organizing your essay, depending on the focus you take: OPTION 1: If you are writing about your experience becoming literate (learning to read and write), you will probably take a narrative approach, detailing your first experiences in school or your first memories of books or the first time reading or writing seemed to make a big impact on your life. You will want strong transition from paragraph to paragraph, and your paragraphs should be around six sentences in length to be fully developed. Your organization will probably be chronological, moving from stage to stage in your life. OPTION 2: If you focus more on a specific text or a specific reading experience, you’ll structure your essay in a more subject-by-subject fashion. Your introduction will establish that you are writing about significant moments at which literacy or particular texts impacted your life and give a sense of why those moments or texts are important. Your body paragraphs will be organized around each of those texts or moments, explaining what they were and narrating why they mattered. You will still want strong transitions and paragraphs of roughly six sentences.

30.0 pts

This criterion is linked to a Learning OutcomeconclusionConclusion: Regardless of which option you choose, you want a conclusion that avoids summarizing what you’ve just said. You also don’t want to say, “In conclusion.…” Your aim in a conclusion is to place the discussion in a larger context. For example, how might those experiences be similar to or different from those of other individuals? How do you envision the role of reading in your life in the future?

read current news articles about Latin America from the website for the North American Congress of Latin America (NACLA)

I’m trying to learn for my History class and I’m stuck. Can you help?

In terms of the content of each report, I am looking for two main points of discussion. First, you should devote the first half of the report to a summary of the main points in the article that you selected. To help you to address this issue, consider some of these questions: What is the main issue being discussed? (i.e. immigration, elections, education, environment, women’s issues, crime, etc.) Who are the main personalities mentioned in the article? (i.e. Enrique Peña Nieto, Nicolás Maduro, Mauricio Macri, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, Jair Bolsonaro, President Trump, Secretary of State Pompeo, etc.) How does the issue affect the people of the country mentioned in the article? Does the issue have any connection with United States interests? In other words, please try to be as objective as possible during this portion of the assignment.

And for the second point of discussion, please analyze the article that you selected and present your point of view on the story. For example, how do you feel about the story? How did this article contribute to your understanding about modern Latin America or the Americas in general? And what do you think about the author’s perspective on the article?

Need 2 pages paper

I don’t know how to handle this Computer Science question and need guidance.

Overall Project Scenario

Always Fresh Foods Inc. is a food distributor with a central headquarters and main warehouse in Colorado, as well as two regional warehouses in Nevada and Virginia.

The company runs Microsoft Windows 2019 on its servers and Microsoft Windows 10 on its workstations. There are 2 database servers, 4 application servers, 2 web servers, and 25 workstation computers in the headquarters offices and main warehouse. The network uses workgroups, and users are created locally on each computer. Employees from the regional warehouses connect to the Colorado network via a virtual private network (VPN) connection.

Due to a recent security breach, Always Fresh wants to increase the overall security of its network and systems. They have chosen to use a solid multilayered defense to reduce the likelihood that an attacker will successfully compromise the company’s information security. Multiple layers of defense throughout the IT infrastructure makes the process of compromising any protected resource or data more difficult than any single security control. In this way, Always Fresh protects its business by protecting its information.

Tasks

Create a summary report to management that answers the following questions to satisfy the key points of interest regarding the addition of Active Directory to the network:

  • System administrators currently create users on each computer where users need access. In Active Directory, where will system administrators create users?
  • How will the procedures for making changes to the user accounts, such as password changes, be different in Active Directory?
  • What action should administrators take for the existing workgroup user accounts after converting to Active Directory?
  • How will the administrators resolve differences between user accounts defined on different computers? In other words, if user accounts have different settings on different computers, how will Active Directory address that issue? (Hint: Consider security identifiers [SIDs].)
  • Submission Requirements

§ Format: Microsoft Word (or compatible)
    § Font: Arial, size 12, double-space
§ Citation Style: Follow your school’s preferred style guide
    § Length: 2 to 4 pages
