Bone marrow transplant was not an option at that time and so blood transfusion was the treatment of choice.

Explain the reasoning behind these other signs and symptoms that Curie experienced. Assume her blood group was A negative. Which blood groups can she receive? Which blood groups can she not receive? Explain why.

Marie Curie experienced fatigue, rapid heart rate, pale skin and dizziness because she was diagnosed with aplastic anemia. Aplastic anemia is a condition when your body stops producing new blood cells. There are other ways of treatment but considering blood transfusion was the only choice, “it was to control the bleeding and relieve anemia symptoms” (Mayo Clinic). Complications can also arise with multiple transfusions even though there is really no limit, it can damage the body when there is an iron overload that is not treated.

A- can receive blood from both A- and O- because O- is a universal donor, and A- has the same antigen. But A- can give to A- and A+ and AB- and AB+. She cannot receive from other groups other than O- and A- because they have specific antigens. Since she is A-, A blood type has only an A antigen and O blood type has neither A or B antigen. She cannot receive from O+, A+, B-, B+, AB-, AB+ because her body will fight against the antibodies.

In the course text, Fifty Strategies for Communicating and Working with Diverse Families, the end of each chapter includes a section titled “What Teachers Can Do.” The journal activities throughout this course will allow you to reflect upon and note strategies for family-centered care and education.

Assignment: Write a short essay (500-750 words) about the impact of reading upon your life. A literacy essay explores one’s growth as a reader. Don’t confuse “literacy” with “literature.” The goal is to come up with a thesis that states how one specific text, or perhaps a series of them, or just the written word in general contributed to your personal development.

Literacy narratives can often have slightly different focuses, so you have a small amount of room for creativity, but they do deal with detailing a person’s path to reading and writing (education and experiences as a reader) and/or the impact that reading and writing has on their lives. Keep in mind that the focus here is on “literacy” (more the act of reading and/or writing) and not as much on “literature” (which we’ll be talking about in class). Your literacy narrative can involve your experiences with various “great” books, but it will more likely encompass your experiences with a variety of texts, from internet reading, to newspapers, to comic books, to whatever you tend to read or even write in your spare time.

Regardless of how you organize the paper, the final draft of your paper needs to be typed, double spaced, and in 12 point font with one inch margins. Your name, the instructor’s name, the course number, and date need to be in the upper left hand corner of the first page. Your last name and the page number should appear in the upper right hand corner of each page (technically it’s optional on the first page, but should definitely be on additional pages). See page 488 in A Writer’s Reference for an example.

In terms of the content of each report, I am looking for two main points of discussion. First, you should devote the first half of the report to a summary of the main points in the article that you selected. To help you to address this issue, consider some of these questions: What is the main issue being discussed? (i.e. immigration, elections, education, environment, women’s issues, crime, etc.) Who are the main personalities mentioned in the article? (i.e. Enrique Peña Nieto, Nicolás Maduro, Mauricio Macri, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, Jair Bolsonaro, President Trump, Secretary of State Pompeo, etc.) How does the issue affect the people of the country mentioned in the article? Does the issue have any connection with United States interests? In other words, please try to be as objective as possible during this portion of the assignment.

And for the second point of discussion, please analyze the article that you selected and present your point of view on the story. For example, how do you feel about the story? How did this article contribute to your understanding about modern Latin America or the Americas in general? And what do you think about the author’s perspective on the article?

Overall Project Scenario

Always Fresh Foods Inc. is a food distributor with a central headquarters and main warehouse in Colorado, as well as two regional warehouses in Nevada and Virginia.

The company runs Microsoft Windows 2019 on its servers and Microsoft Windows 10 on its workstations. There are 2 database servers, 4 application servers, 2 web servers, and 25 workstation computers in the headquarters offices and main warehouse. The network uses workgroups, and users are created locally on each computer. Employees from the regional warehouses connect to the Colorado network via a virtual private network (VPN) connection.

Due to a recent security breach, Always Fresh wants to increase the overall security of its network and systems. They have chosen to use a solid multilayered defense to reduce the likelihood that an attacker will successfully compromise the company’s information security. Multiple layers of defense throughout the IT infrastructure makes the process of compromising any protected resource or data more difficult than any single security control. In this way, Always Fresh protects its business by protecting its information.

• System administrators currently create users on each computer where users need access. In Active Directory, where will system administrators create users?
