Earth Buddy Question
Can you help me understand this Business question?
1. How many Earth Buddies can Ben expect to produce in one shift? How many if the factory works two shifts?Three shifts? How many if it operates three shifts a day, seven days a week?Which operation is the bottleneck? Are there any process improvements that you could suggest to Ben?
2.If Ben asks his workers to produce at the same rate as the bottleneck operations, what is the utilization rate for each operator? How long will each operator be idle during a shift? What is the average utilization of the total system?
3.On average, how long does it take for a typical Earth Buddy to move through the standard process (assuming a transfer batch of 25 at the fill operation and a three-shift operation)?
4.Anton has just received a large order from Wal-Mart and, while anticipating more orders, has asked Ben to increase production to 4,000 units per day.How should Ben respond if one shift must product the units? Two shifts?
5.Would your response to #4 change if Bens workers were cross-trained and able to switch between jobs when otherwise idle?Which, if any, workers would you cross-train?
6.A good customer has arrived at the factory and just made an urgent request for Ben to produce a special Earth Buddy.A secret ingredient has to be added to the usual grass seed and sawdust mixture. How long will it take to produce a batch of 25 specials? If the customer must leave the factory in 45 minutes, will Ben have his samples ready in time?Assume that one filling machine, one moulder, one eye installer, the painter, and the two packers can be pre-empted as soon as they are required and can be dedicated to the job.
7.Although no longer a serious problem, it was not uncommon in the firms early days to reject 15% of the units.Assuming the defects occurred on or before the filling operation, but were not detected until packing, what was the impact on capacity?Would a special inspection after filling help?
8. Are there any process improvements that you could suggest to Ben?
Environmental Management in Health Care Facilities
Im trying to learn for my Health & Medical class and Im stuck. Can you help?
You and your team have been assigned to manage a renovation project from an old warehouse to a medical office building. You have been asked to manage one of the internal environmental impacts, such as hazardous waste management, fire and safety management, disaster management, security management, or ADA guidelines, in the newly renovated building.
The discussion of the cross-functional team members reveals their concern regarding topics like how to handle fire safety or hazardous waste at the newly renovated facility. The internal stakeholders, including the director of facilities and human resources manager, are interested specifically in the ADA guidelines.
Note: The term environmental does not relate to the outside environment such as trees and animals.
As a team, research the standard operating procedures for the areas listed below and select an area that you will incorporate into the renovation of the warehouse into the medical office building.
- Select one of the following areas to use in your facility and presentation:

Multi-Modal Self-Assessment & “Says vs Does”
I dont know how to handle this Writing question and need guidance.
1. Multi-Modal Self-Assessment (800-1000 words).
Utilizing any rhetorical strategies you learned in previous writing class (or elsewhere), respond to the following series of questions in the form of a self-reflective essay that provides me with a sense of your writing life (try to write as an interesting and interested subject). Remember, you can loosely respond to these questions; they are meant to help you generate thoughts about your writing habits and process, not act as prescriptions.
Multi-Modality: Include at least THREE unique modes of representation (photos, objects, maps, original art, video, cartoons, quotes, memes, gifs) in your essay that allow you to discuss your relationship to writing in a unique way (the only criterion here is that each image accomplishes a different goal for you).
How would you characterize your current relationship to writing? Who or what event, experience, person, etc caused or contributed to your sense of yourself as a writer? Feel free to point out negatives and/or positives, but always be specific. What practices and habits of researching, arguing, writing, thinking, communicating and organizing can you articulate about yourself? (Be specific. E.g., “My ‘habits’ of researching involve Google and only Google…that is to say, I approach research with no strategy whatsoever.) Consider, for example, what you took away from previous writing class (or an equivalent freshman composition course) that you feel will help you most in this course and why.
Where do you consider that you need the most improvement? Use examples from past writing and communication projects. How would you like to evolve as a writer and researcher? (This course is about writing reserch paper) What goals have you set for yourself in this class? What have you heard about this course and what do you expect to find as a result? Do you have any anxieties about this course so far? (I know the horror stories, so feel free to say what you will). Do you feel adequately prepared for this course? What about your past or current experiences contributes to this feeling?
How do you think I can best help you meet your goals and alleviate your concerns? Don’t be anxious; Im here to help.
2. “Says vs Does” Prezi Presentation and Beyond Words: page 7 – 24
1. Before reading the selected passage from Safina’s text, you will need to read through the presentation linked below:
https://prezi.com/bxbi5czuo4tm/saysdoes-analysis/ (Links to an external site.)
The slides I would like for you to focus on are slides 4-7, 10-11, 19-20, and 23-24
2. Read pages 7-24 from Safina’s text. (The book’s link: https://www.google.com/books/edition/Beyond_Words/6WfhBQAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=0)
3. In one file, choose TWO short passages from pp 7-24 and carry out a “says” vs “does” analysis on each passage. For example:
“A mind moves a mountainous mass of muscle and bone [ ] to open to the possibilities page 7-8
“Says” –
-
-
- He encounters a female elephant walking in his direction. He is deeply interested in what the elephants are communicating with each other
-
“Does” –
-
-
- Emphasizes the cognitive and sensory functions of an elephant through the use of synecdoche: a mind moves [ ] brown eyes light [ ]
- Reveres the elephant through the use of metaphor: heralded by her own trumpet
- Juxtaposes the characteristics of the animal: timeless, deadly, vulnerable
- Compares elephants with humans
- Makes a proposition to delve into the previous comparison he made: I want to listen
-
***In addition to the suggested “says” vs “does” words in slide #7 in the Prezi presentation, you are more than welcome to come up with your own***
The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) provides a distillation of several of the most well known sets of computer security principles; such as “Fail securely”

Case study one
Help me study for my Health & Medical class. Im stuck and dont understand.
Unit 2
For the Unit II Case Study, you will focus on fires and fire prevention in your community, specifically structural fires and wildfires. Start by conducting research around your community/location for examples of mitigation and fire prevention, such as sprinkler systems, emergency fire exits, or fire hydrants. Take photographs of what you find so that you can show your professor what your area has done to address the issue of fires.
Using what you learned about your community and what you learned about past fires from this course, write a case study, a minimum of four pages in length, that addresses the following points:
Explain what has been done with regard to mitigation, recovery, and/or response efforts within your community. When looking for potential threats, consider wild lands, explosions, or home fires, and, for mitigation, examples include building codes and fireproofing.
Explain who conducted these efforts and the vulnerabilities they faced in their community, and include the role these individuals or groups play with mitigating, responding, and/or recovering from the risk
.
Examine the causes and recovery efforts of at least one past fire that either occurred in your community or that you have researched. Explain the causes and contributing factors of this fire
.
Examine the vulnerability in a larger context. Considering past fires, either in your community or surrounding areas, do you feel your community has done enough to prevent future fires? Why, or why not? What recommendations can you offer to your community to address future risks?
Consider vulnerability theory and use it to help you explain how your community may be vulnerable to fire, followed by systems theory to help you discuss the systems (organizations, policies, procedures, etc.) in place to mitigate the fire hazard.
Your paper should be a minimum of four pages in length, not counting the title and reference pages. You are required to use a minimum of three outside sources as part of your case study. All sources, including the textbook, must be cited and referenced according to APA guidelines.
Additionally, include at least four visual aids/images that support your content (one 4-by-4-inch image per page maximum). Please incorporate those into your paper in APA format.

Question #1: The Challenge of Brevity (By Thursday at 11:55PM)
Give a 2 or 3 word description of each model we went over in Chapter 2. If you want to test how well you understand the models, do this without looking at your notes or the textbook. Here is a list of the models we discussed: Biological, Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Cognitive, Humanistic, and Socio-cultural.
Question #2: Case Application (By Thursday at 11:55PM)
Watch the “Child or Rage” documentary from 0:28-3:06 by going to this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ME2wmFunCjU. Then choose three of the models of psychopathology that we discussed in Chapter that you think could be best used to understand why Beth exhibited her pathological behavior (which is dysfunctional, dangerous, deviant, and distressing). For each model, explain in a sentence or two what a therapist using that model might do to help Beth.

Response one: Through EBSCO, students from wide-ranging fields, as well as the general public, can access numerous research databases, electronic journals, books, and library services of all kinds. EBSCO maximizes the publics access to the most relevant and reliable academic content efficiently. Two of my preferred library scholarly databases contained within the EBSCO research platform are CINAHL and Cochrane library. Both provide high-quality content and a full array of resources to find the desired information. CINAHL is a widely used research database by healthcare professionals as it provides access to the top nursing and allied health journals. CINAHL not only provides access to thousands of nursing-related journals but also contains continuing education modules, evidence-based care sheets, and research instruments (Grand Canyon University, n.d.). Cochrane is also a very useful database and a powerful tool to enhance knowledge as it includes a collection of six databases with high-quality and relevant information to health professionals.
Although Google scholar and a general internet search may prove useful to find credible and quality information in some instances, there are some clear disadvantages to using this method over academically approved research databases. Both methods frequently deliver general and unspecific results with high quantities of useless, repeated, or unrelated content. Also, the use of these search engine methods may not show all the articles listed in the scholarly databases or may produce inaccessible content due to broken links, defective webpages, and other related issues.

The Clever Researcher. (2020). Google Scholar: A Credible Database? Retrieved from https://beryliveylibrary.wordpress.com/2010/10/21/google-scholar/.
Response two: When doing research it is important to have credible and truthful sources to obtain information from. Through the GCU library you can utilize all the resources for articles, books, and other research the school provides. Trusting sites like Wikipedia and random articles on google is not a good idea when researching medical facts. GCU uses EBSCO as a search engine for scholarly articles. EBSCO is the leading provider of research databases, e-journals, magazine subscriptions, eBooks and discovery service for academic libraries (Grand Canyon University n.d.). ProQuest is another highly used source for articles. ProQuest databases provides a single source for scholarly journals, newspapers, reports, working papers, and datasets (“ProQuest,” 2019).
Where I feel you can find a good source of information through google and other internet searches, that information may not always be the most reliable when it comes to truth and actual research. Sometimes it is presented as a theory or opinion. Sticking to peer reviewed, actual research articles is the best way to get reliable information for whatever your topic of research may be.

Ressponse three: The Grand Canyon University (GCU) library has a variety of databases that may be used to help find the best articles to support an evidence-based practice proposal. Two commonly used databases are CINAHL Complete and Pubmed. CINAHL Complete offers more than 1,300 journal articles covering more than 50 nursing specialties (Grand Canyon University, n.d.). PubMed comprises nearly 30 million citations for biomedical literature and life-science literature which provides research directed towards improving health (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, n.d.).
It is important to understand why someone should choose to use these two databases over Google Scholar and general internet searches when collecting data for research proposals. While Google Scholar and a generalized internet search offers a variety of data, databases such as CINAHL Complete and Pubmed are often the better option. Most importantly, the information found on these library databases are checked for accuracy and reliability. These databases offer the most up-to-date information, while the information found on the internet may be outdated or biased. The use of library scholarly databases allows the researcher to have more specific access to the topic being researched. The use of these library databases provides the ability sort the topic of research by topic, date, and relevance. It also allows for the selection of different types of materials such as journal articles, newspaper articles, and magazines (Howard Community College, n.d.). Many times, Google Scholar and the internet may not offer free access to full text journal articles, while many of the GCU library databases are able to do so. While Google Scholar and general internet searches offer unlimited information on a subject topic, when doing research for evidence-based proposals, there is a need to obtain the most recent, accurate, and reliable information. The use of library scholarly databases, such as CINAHL Complete and Pubmed is the best option for obtaining this information.
