It is important to think strategically when administering human resources because you wouldn’t want to violate any of the laws that protect the employee receiving any of the services. Also many roles for human resources are changing. It’s no longer an administrative and compliance role, they are now require to have a deeper and broader understanding of business issues. It is important to think strategically because human resources are now responsible for helping the business achieve organizational plans and results. The challenges I see is company’s that’s changing the HR roles will soon outsource HR. With the rules of salary and medical benefits constantly changing in different states it will be hard for someone to keep track unless they work with it everyday. The intended benefit is to have HR more aware with business to help enforce change and develop strategies to make it work. Another benefit is to increase capitol and improve the return of investments to the company.

When administering Human Resources with strategy an organization may greatly benefit. Strategic human resource management may be viewed as an approach to the practice of human resources directed towards addressing business challenges in the areas of recruiting, screening, interviewing and hiring the correct employees to address business needs and making a direct contribution to an organization’s long-term objectives. One of the main principles of strategic human resource management that must be considered is that it helps improve business performance and strongly uphold a business culture that may inspire innovation while working towards gaining a competitive advantage. One of the greatest challenges that I see affecting strategic human resources is that the competition for talent will be stepped-up, it will be much more difficult to attract the best candidates for the open positions due to the improvement of labor market conditions. This is a challenge that will require the building of a stronger and reputable employer brand.

Characteristics of an organized leader:

There are several characteristics of an organized leader, some of which can strengthen the quality of an organization. Harley-McClaskey (2017) stated that an individual’s style in leadership is one that is learned and is the function of age and life experiences (p. 55). Based on personal experience, I do believe this to be true. I also agree with Harley-McClaskey’s (2017) suggestion that an organized leader may change their usual style after a significant life event. Of all that I learned in this section, the most important takeaway is that flexibility of style can enable or strengthen a leader as well as a team (Harley-McClaskey, 2017). Harley-McClaskey (2017) further suggests that an organized leader should be able to recognize their talents and skills and in turn, find a team of people who have talents and skills that the leader may lack. Finally, being able to recognize conflict amongst the team is necessary for the success of the organization/company. Diffusing conflict is not easy, however, Harley-McClaskey (2017) suggested that following certain steps can be beneficial. Some examples include, a) decide what they want for themselves or those involved; b) decide if they should speak up or if the issue should be left alone; and c) converse with those involved, agree to a plan and follow up (Harley-McClaskey, 2017, p. 67).

What is Personality?

Personality refers to an individual’s characteristic patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior, together with the psychological mechanisms-hidden or not-behind those patterns.

Personality psychology is organized around 5 major approaches to understanding personality.

The trait approach focuses on individual differences in people.

The biological approach focuses on the inheritability and evolutionary history of behavioral patterns, on genetics, and on the brain and nervous system.

The psychoanalytical and psychodynamic approach focuses on the unconscious mind, on childhood developmental issues, on anxiety, conflict, and defense mechanisms.

The humanistic approach focuses on immediate conscious awareness, free will, and choice.

Learning and cognitive approaches focus on how rewards and punishments in the environment shape behavior, and how behavior is a funciton of the situation in which it occurs. Cognitive approaches emphasize perception, motivation, thought, and the cluster of memories called the self.

Select a product or service that you currently own (or use) and a country that you’re not familiar with. You are encouraged to select a product or service that is unique and innovative.

Imagine that you are with the international sales department of the company that manufactures and sells the item (or service) that you are proposing to make or introduce in the country you have selected.

The first step is to learn as much as possible about the country where you plan to market the product.
