Applying Current Literature to Clinical Practice

Need help with my Nursing question – I’m studying for my class.

Applying Current Literature to Clinical Practice

Psychiatric mental health nursing practice is one of the newest disciplines to be licensed to provide psychotherapy as such, the majority of psychotherapy research is centered on other disciplines such as psychology, social work, marriage/family therapy, art therapy, psychiatry, and mental health counseling. This makes it essential for you to be able to translate current literature from other disciplines into your own clinical practice. For this Assignment, you practice this skill by examining literature on group work and group therapy and considering its applicability to your own clients.

  • Evaluate the application of current literature to clinical practice
  • Select one of the articles from the Learning Resources to evaluate for this Assignment.

In a 5- to 10-slide PowerPoint presentation, address the following:

  • Provide an overview of the article you selected, including answers to the following questions:
    • What type of group was discussed?
    • Who were the participants in the group? Why were they selected?
    • What was the setting of the group?
    • How often did the group meet?
    • What was the duration of the group therapy?
    • What curative factors might be important for this group and why?
    • What “exclusion criteria” did the authors mention?
  • Explain the findings/outcomes of the study in the article. Include whether this will translate into practice with your own client groups. If so, how? If not, why?
  • Explain whether the limitations of the study might impact your ability to use the findings/outcomes presented in the article.

3 or more evidenced based current literatures required.

Literature Review 12-14 pages

I’m stuck on a Political Science question and need an explanation.

After gathering all of your resources and making notes, it is time to start writing your literature review. While this may seem like an easy task after all the work you have completed, it involves tedious analysis of the resources you have found and careful consideration of the insights and findings of each resource. For this Assignment, you write the first draft of your literature review based on the resources and outline you created for your Capstone Project.

The assignment:

  • Using your resources from Week 5, additional resources you have found, and your literature review outline, write a 12- to 14-page draft literature review.
  • The literature review should include a minimum of 20–25 relevant scholarly articles, research reports, and/or other academic sources.
  • Be sure to follow the literature review guidelines provided in the Machi and McEvoy text.—–Machi, L. A., & McEvoy, B. T. (2016). The literature review: Six steps to success (3rd ed.). Thousand Oaks, CA: Corwin.

Note: In addition to the 10–12 resources you located for Week 5, you must locate another 10–12 scholarly resources in order to meet this Assignment’s minimum requirement of 20–25 resources.

Reminder: Use APA guidelines for citations and formatting.

I will send the Outline and some more resources to be used.

T-tests summaries and practice data

Hi Folks,

In Week 1 I asked students to review, among other statistics, t-tests for (single sample, independent (two) samples, and paired samples), and I asked that students post any questions they may have about t-tests.

All 3 versions of the t-tests were covered in RSCH8210 (which I teach occasionally), so theoretically students in this class should know how to conduct them, interpret them, and summarize the results in correct APA style, as well as their effect size, Cohen’s
d. I certainty teach my RSCH8210 students how to conduct, interpret, and summarize the results for t-tests in APA style.

When you read my sample summary for this week you’ll see that included the results for Independent (two) Samples t-tests.

You are not required to conduct or report the t-tests in your SPSS assignment this week.

But , recognizing that some students may lack a complete understanding of t-tests, I feel compelled to share with you my sample summaries and data file to practice with, that I use in RSCH8210.

So, in the attached zip file you find sample summaries for the three types of t-tests as well as the SPSS data files that they are based on.

Perhaps sometime down the road you’ll have a need to conduct and summarize the results for a t-test, and you may find these materials helpful.

I need support with this Marketing question so I can learn better.

Prior to beginning this discussion, please review Chapter 8: Importing, Exporting, and Sourcing, and Chapter 9: Global Market-Entry Strategies: Licensing, Investment, and Strategic Alliances in your text.

When writing your post, you should consider the four different strategies for entering the global market:

  1. Direct and indirect exporting
  2. Licensing and franchising
  3. Joint ventures
  4. Foreign direct investment

In your post, you will

  • Pick two strategies from the above list for entering the global market. Assess the strengths and limitations of each strategy.
    • Now, select one of these companies: Walmart, Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks, McDonald’s, or Target.
  • Explain what strategies these companies used when entering the global economy.
    • What prior research was conducted?
    • How well did they understand their target marketing environment?
  • Analyze the export marketing strategies the companies used.
    • What decisions were made concerning product design, pricing, distribution channels, advertising, and communications—the marketing mix?
    • What lessons did they learn from their success in the global marketplace?

Your initial discussion post should be 250 words. Cite your textbook and any other sources used to support your ideas. You may refer to Ashford University Writing Center’s APA Style (Links to an external site.) resource.

Public health

I’m studying for my Health & Medical class and need an explanation.

Please answer the questions. Only one paragraph needed for each part and NO source needed.

Q1.

1. A new statute and subsequent administrative regulations give only a temporary license to newly licensed drivers, prohibiting late night driving and the use of cell phones and limiting the number of passengers. You ask: Should elderly drivers be subject to these same types of regulations, such as being required to take a driver’s test

2. The CDC reports that the country is facing an unprecedented epidemic of obesity in all regions. It indicates that it is doing everything within its legal authority to address the epidemic. Unfortunately it concludes there is little more that the federal government can do to fight obesity. Why, you wonder, is the federal authority to address health problems so limited

Q2. Noncommunicable diseases are on the rise in both developed and developing countries. Specifically, mental health disorders are becoming more prevalent around the world and it is predicted by the World Health Organization that by 2025, mental health disorders will be the leading cause of morbidity. Why are mental health disorders on the rise and what factors should be targeted to decrease their prevalence?

Q3. Your hometown of 100,000 is faced with a crisis as an airplane lands containing a passenger thought to have a new form of severe influenza that has recently gained the ability to spread from person to person through airborne transmission. As the mayor of the city, what do you decide to do?

Introduction to social work

Need help with my Sociology question – I’m studying for my class.

Discussion 1
What is culture? Is it synonymous with nationality? Can culture emerge from the intersection of multiple factors, such as gender identity, ability status, or language? Consider these questions as you prepare to describe your own culture.

For this Discussion, think about how you would identify your culture. Consider aspects of your identity such as your ethnicity, gender identity, religion, race, ability status, sexual orientation, or any other identifiers that contribute to what you would consider your culture.

Post a description of important aspects of your culture that an outsider might not know. (Heterosexual Female Christian African American) Explain the information a social worker would need to know about your culture in order to effectively assist your family in the face of a pressing issue. Describe potential consequences of a lack of cultural awareness on the social worker’s part.

Discussion 2

The term cultural competence denotes an integrative perspective on the cultures of other people. Individuals displaying higher levels of cultural competency tend not to promote their culture over others or vice versa—they instead demonstrate an interest in learning more about the customs, habits, and behaviors of those whose backgrounds are different from their own.

For this Discussion, review one of the case studies in the Readings and consider your knowledge of the client’s culture.

By Day 4

Post a description of your level of familiarity with the culture of the client. Describe at least two additional pieces of information you would need to gather from the client in order to best assist him or her.

NHS-FP6004: Assessment 1-Dashboard Benchmark Evaluation

I’m stuck on a Nursing question and need an explanation.

Overview

Review the performance dashboard for a health care organization, as well as relevant local, state, and federal laws and policies. Then, write a report for senior leaders in the organization that communicates your analysis and evaluation of the current state of organizational performance, including a recommended metric to target for improvement.

Note: Each assessment in this course builds on the work you completed in the previous assessment. Therefore, you must complete the assessments in this course in the order in which they are presented.

In the era of health care reform, many of the laws and policies set by government at the local, state, and federal levels have specific performance benchmarks related to care delivery outcomes that organizations must achieve. It is critical for organizational success that the interprofessional care team is able to understand reports and dashboards that display the metrics related to performance and compliance benchmarks. This assessment offers an opportunity for you to demonstrate and sharpen your ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate performance dashboard metrics.

Assessment Instructions

Preparation

For this assessment, you may choose one of the following three options for a performance dashboard to use as the basis for your benchmark evaluation.

Option 1: Dashboard and Health Care Benchmark Evaluation Simulation

If you decide to use the simulation dashboard for your evaluation, review the dashboard, as well as relevant local, state, and federal laws and policies. Consider the metrics within the dashboard that are falling short of prescribed benchmarks.

Option 2: Actual Dashboard From a Professional Practice Setting

If you choose an actual dashboard from a professional practice setting for your evaluation, be sure to add a brief description of the organization and setting that includes:

  • The size of the facility that the dashboard is reporting on.
  • The specific type of care delivery.
  • The population diversity and ethnicity demographics.
  • The socioeconomic level of the population served by the organization.

Note: Ensure that your data is Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant. Do not use any easily identifiable organization or patient information.

Option 3: Hypothetical Dashboard Based on a Professional Practice Setting

If you have a sophisticated understanding of dashboards that are relevant to your own practice, you may also construct a hypothetical dashboard for your evaluation based on that setting. Your hypothetical dashboard must present at least four different metrics, at least two of which must be underperforming the relevant benchmark set forth by a federal, state, or local laws or policies. In addition, be sure to add a brief description of the organization and setting that includes:

  • The size of the facility that the dashboard is reporting on.
  • The specific type of care delivery.
  • The population diversity and ethnicity demographics.
  • The socioeconomic level of the population served by the organization.

Note: Ensure that your data is HIPAA compliant. Do not use any easily identifiable organization or patient information.

Report Requirements

Structure your report in such a way that it would be easy for a colleague or supervisor to locate the information they need. Be sure to cite relevant local, state, or federal health care laws or policies when evaluating metric performance against prescribed benchmarks. Cite an additional 2–4 credible sources to support your analysis and evaluation of the challenges in meeting the benchmarks, the potential for performance improvement, and your advocacy for ethical action.

Note: The tasks outlined below correspond to grading criteria in the scoring guide.

In your report, be sure to:

  • Evaluate dashboard metrics against the benchmarks set by local, state, or federal health care laws or policies.
    • Which metrics are below the mandated benchmarks in the organization? Evaluate weaknesses within the entire set of benchmarks.
    • What are the local, state, or federal health care laws or policies that set these benchmarks?
  • Analyze challenges that meeting prescribed benchmarks can pose for the organization or for an interprofessional team.
    • What are the specific challenges or opportunities that the organization or interprofessional team might have in meeting the benchmarks? For example, consider:
      • The strategic direction of the organization.
      • The organization’s mission.
      • Available resources:
        • Staffing.
        • Operational and capital funding.
        • Physical space.
        • Support services (any ancillary department that supports a specific care unit in the organization, such as a pharmacy, cleaning services, and dietary services).
      • Cultural diversity in the organization.
      • Cultural diversity in the community.
      • Organizational processes and procedures.
    • How might these challenges be contributing to benchmark underperformance?
  • Evaluate a benchmark underperformance in the organization or interprofessional team that has the potential for greatly improving overall quality or performance.
    • Which metric is underperforming its benchmark by the greatest degree?
    • Which benchmark underperformance is the most widespread throughout the organization or interprofessional team?
    • Which benchmark affects the greatest number of patients?
    • Which benchmark affects the greatest number of staff?
    • How does this underperformance affect the community the organization serves?
    • Where is the greatest opportunity for improvement in the overall quality or performance of the organization or interpersonal team—and ultimately in patient outcomes?
  • Advocate for ethical action in addressing the benchmark underperformance that has the potential for greatly improving overall quality or performance.
    • At which group of stakeholders should your advocacy be directed? Which group could be expected to take the appropriate action to improve the benchmark metric?
    • What are some ethical actions that the stakeholder group could take that support improved benchmark performance?
    • Why should the stakeholder group take action?
  • Communicate your findings and recommendations in a professional and effective manner.
    • Ensure that your report is well organized and easy to read.
    • Write clearly and logically, using correct grammar, punctuation, and mechanics.
  • Integrate relevant sources to support your arguments, correctly formatting source citations and references using current APA style.
    • Did you cite relevant local, state, or federal health care laws or policies when discussing the mandated benchmarks?
    • Did you cite an additional 2–4 credible sources to support your analysis, evaluation, and advocacy?

Suggested Resources

The resources provided here are optional. You may use other resources of your choice to prepare for this assessment; however, you will need to ensure that they are appropriate, credible, and valid. The NHS-FP6004 – Health Care Policy and Law Library Guide can help direct your research, and the Supplemental Resources and Research Resources, both linked from the left navigation menu in your courseroom, provide additional resources to help support you.

Attribution Errors

I’m studying for my Psychology class and need an explanation.

Wherever you go, you will be observing human behavior, and it is difficult not to make a judgment about people after observing how they behave. You might consider three people on a crowded bus to be kind if you see them give up their seats so a mother can sit down with her two young children. You might consider a grocery store employee to be rude if you asked him where to find the milk and he rolled his eyes and sighed heavily before directing you to its location. These two judgments would be logical—kind in the first case and rude in the second—because that is the type of people they appeared to be.

However, social psychologists are more concerned with the external social conditions that influence behavior. Maybe only one of the people on the bus acted kindly and the other two gave up their seats because they did not want to be perceived as unkind by others on the bus. Perhaps the grocery store employee is usually kind, but he behaved rudely because he has been told to work an extra shift at the last minute and it means he will likely miss a friend’s birthday party. If you attribute someone’s behavior to her or his personality, your judgment may underestimate the social conditions that influenced the behavior. When explaining the causes of someone’s behavior, underestimating or discounting the social situation results in what social psychologists call an attribution error.

For your assignment this week, you will look at a scenario and consider how the cause of a person’s behavior may be explained better by situational influences than one’s personality or internal disposition.

  • Review the Learning Resources for this week and consider how the causes of a person’s behavior may be explained by situational factors.
  • Consider the following scenario for this Assignment:
  • Imagine that you have been summoned for jury duty in the United States. If you are selected to be on the jury, you will be hearing a rape case where a 23-year-old female alleges sexual assault. In order to select the jury (a process known by the Latin term voir dire), both the prosecutor and defense attorney question the jury pool to identify and dismiss for cause people who have strong opinions about the subject matter, who already know about the case, or who may be biased for or against either party to the trial. Attorneys may also dismiss members of the jury pool who they think will not be favorable to their case. These types of dismissals are called peremptory challenges and the attorneys have a limited number of them.
  • During the process of jury selection, you notice the prosecutors are using their limited peremptory challenges to dismiss most of the young women from the jury pool. You find this peculiar, given that young women would seem to be most favorable to the prosecution’s case.

Assignment:

Submit 1–2 pages, not including title page and reference page:

  • Informed by social psychology theory, explain why the prosecutor was reluctant to seat young women on the jury. Please provide a detailed explanation for this seemingly odd behavior.

Please APA
