NRP508 Practicing in Rural Communities

I need help with a Nursing question. All explanations and answers will be used to help me learn.

Write a 525-word paper in which you:

  • Identify the practicing guidelines for this region as it relates to the NP.
  • What challenges will you face caring for patients in this location? Consider the lack of resources available to nurses and patients in rural communities.
  • Identify two chief complaints that are common among patients in this area.
  • How will you educate the patients in this community to decrease the number of patients seen for these medical conditions?
  • What are the benefits of practicing in rural areas?
  • Identify recruitment strategies that will persuade an NP to practice in this region.
  • What professional boundaries might you encounter practicing in this area and how will you ensure to not cross those boundaries?
  • What issues may arise if NPs aren’t given full practice authority in this area, if applicable?
  • Identify solutions to any obstacles that might discourage an NP from practicing in this rural area.

Watch: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Read: Early “Staking Her Claim and write a formal response paper

Can you help me understand this Film question?

Formal Response papers (2-3pp) — Response papers should be composed in formal prose and be used to practice thesis development and argumentation. They should function primarily to develop and focus theses that may be refined into a final paper. You may approach a concept related to the assigned material, delve into details, explore broader themes, symbols, or ideas, or engage any other literary, critical, theoretical, analytical, or humanistic argumentation.

All formal writing assignments must follow these guidelines. Not following correct formatting with be penalized:

–Be formatted according to MLA

–Contain a works cited page

–Use one inch margins on all sides.

–12 pt, Times New Roman font

–Double spaced

–Last Name & Page # in top right corner

–Contains parenthetical citations

Film Writing: Best Practices

As this course is mainly engaged with film, you will be required to use time markers for each in-text citation: (Title of the Film Hour:Min:Sec) eg. (Batman 01:23:15). Because you will need to reference a fair amount of evidence in your analysis and writing (direct quotes, scenes from the films, articles, etc.), I highly suggest that you watch the film with subtitles on so you are able to write down the exact quote. You are expected to read and watch the entirety of whatever is assigned. If you take notes as you read, you will be much more prepared for the written assignments. Also, remember to save all of your work often and in multiple locations.

DNA paper using the article provided as a basis of research

I need support with this Science question so I can learn better.

Objectives

•Discuss how the primary structure of nucleic acids is the order of bases in the polynucleotide sequence, and the secondary structure is the three-dimensional conformation of the backbone.

•Discuss the monomers of nucleic acids are nucleotides.

•Discuss how the bases are bonded to the sugars, forming nucleosides.

•Summarize how nucleosides are linked by ester bonds to phosphoric acid to formthe phosphodiester backbone.

•Specific proteins called single-strand binding proteins bind to the single-strandedregions and protect them from nucleases.

•Spontaneous mutation of bases and insertion of the wrong nucleotide would normally lead to an error every 10^4 to 10^5.

INSTRUCTION:

•Step 1: Read the article found in section 9A: Biochemical Connections: Law in your digital book.

•Using the Concorde’s Online Library, your digital material, and other scholarly websites, discuss the following:

•What are your feelings regarding the article?

•Describe, in detail, what the following statement means, “What can be patentedis purified DNA containing the sequence of the gene and techniques that allowthe study of the genes.”

•How do you see the patenting of genes/DNA impacting science and medicine over the next 30 years?

•Do you believe this trend is ethical? Why/why not?

•Step 2: Compile your thoughts & research and write a 3-5 page paper addressing the topics and questions above.

•Step 3: Once complete, save your file and submit.

• You are required to have at least two outside resources, at the scholarly level. Wikipedia is not acceptable.

The use of outside resources is required and all papers must be cited and written in APA format.

9A: Biochemical Connections: Law Article

Who Owns Your Genes?

“There is a gene in your body’s cells that plays a key role in early spinal cord development. It belongs to Harvard University. Incyte Corporation, based in Wilmington, Del., has patented the gene for a receptor for histamine, the compound released by cells during the hay fever season. About half of all the genes known to be involved in cancer are patented.” Following the explosion in information that came from the Human Genome Project (see Biochemical Connections 9B), commercial firms, universities, and even government agencies began to look for patents on genes, which began a long philosophical and legal battle that continues to this day. Human cells have about genes, which are the blueprint for the trillion cells in our body. About percent of the human genome has been patented. As of 2006, Incyte Corporation owned about percent of all known human genes.

Case study #1

Mrs. Franklin-Jones

was admitted
from the Emergency Room to Cardiac Intensive Care one week ago with a diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction. She has recovered as expected and is moving to the cardiac

step down
unit today. She is talking with Nurse Julie Hernandez, as she gets settled in her new room, “I was really surprised when I got that bad pain in my chest! I knew I had high pressure but I just didn’t think it was that bad. I try to take my medicine like they told me to in the clinic but sometimes I forget. I guess that I need to study those papers they gave me about what foods I should eat and not eat. I better take care of myself! Momma had bad pressure and it killed her! Who knows—I may even have to learn to cook

different
than I was taught in Jamaica! I may have to let Tomas do the cooking. He’s got more time at home now than I do since he lost his job. There isn’t too much time between my shifts at the school cafeteria and my new housecleaning job. You know my sister is coming up from Jamaica to see me. I think she is bringing me some bush tea. That’ll set me right!”

    • Using Leininger’s Culture Care Model, what factors in the story shared by Mrs. Franklin-Jones should be considered by Nurse Hernandez when planning for the patient’s discharge?
    • Why is the theory of Culture Care Diversity important in the delivery of nursing care for all patients?
    • Using Leininger’s Theory of Culture Care Diversity and Universality, develop a plan of care for Mrs. Franklin-Jones.
    • Discuss the strengths and limits

      to
      Leininger’s Theory.

          Case Study #2

Claude Jean-Baptiste is recovering from post-hip replacement surgery and has been transferred to the Rehabilitation Institute adjacent to the hospital. When he enters the unit, he sees welcoming signs written in several languages including his own, Creole. Since there are no nurses on that shift that speak Creole, they use a language line to ask for translation services. During this initial nursing assessment, the translator informs Mr. Jean-Baptiste that the nurses invite him to have a relative at his side so that they can be sure to understand and meet his needs. He is asked about Haitian customs and beliefs that they might honor. Mr. Jean-Baptiste is encouraged to bring food and spiritual care

          items,
and to share the warmth of his culture with the nursing staff.

            • Discuss assumptions of the Transpersonal Caring relationship. What is the nurse’s role?
            • How is love, as defined by Watson, evident in this caring moment?
            • How can the nurse creatively use self to create a healing environment?
            • Discuss the strengths and limits

              to
              Watson’s Theory.

This paper should include 2 outside references and your book. The essay should be between 1500 and 1750 words in length.

Summarize, evaluate, and analyze a selected public policy

I need help with a Political Science question. All explanations and answers will be used to help me learn.

Taxes, retirement, and financial policies are some of the most controversial areas of policy development. There are a variety of opinions, data sources, and expert reports out there on each of these areas. Therefore, along with all proposed policy, it is important that we can evaluate each policy. In this week’s lesson, we discussed the three primary and five ancillary evaluative criteria that Kraft considers essential in analyzing policies. So let’s put this information into practice.

Let’s take a look at some articles or resources on policy. Please go to the APUS Library Guide for Public Administration linked on the front page of the course website (https://apus.libguides.com/pubadmin/thinktanks). Go to Think Tanks and Interest Groups Tab. Choose one from the list given there and tell us which one you chose. Then find an article or resource that discusses a policy.

For your response to this question request:

            (1) Summarize the key points made within the article.

            (2) Now, select at least three evaluative criteria to analyze the points made in the article, which are:

            • Effectiveness, or a measurement of how well a policy achieves its goal;
            • Efficiency, a measurement of the cost of a policy in relation to its expected benefits; and
            • Equity, a measurement of the level of fairness in the distribution of costs and benefits in society.

In addition, there are five other additional criteria that might be used:

            • Ethics, or a measurement of the impact of the policy on cultural norms;
            • Political feasibility, a measurement of the level of acceptance of a proposed policy by elected officials;
            • Social acceptability, a measurement of the level of public acceptance and support of a proposed policy;
            • Administrative feasibility, a measurement of the ability to implement a proposed policy; and
            • Technical feasibility, a measurement of the availability and reliability of the technology needed to implement a proposed policy.

For example, did the author address the equity of the policy and if so, what did they say? If they didn’t address it, what do you think the author would have said about the missing evaluative criteria?

            (3) Analyze the policy alternatives for your selected policy topic/article.

            Hormones and depression

I don’t know how to handle this Health & Medical question and need guidance.

Hormones and depression: Today, millions of women around the world use hormonal contraceptives that have expanded beyond the pill to patches, implants, injections, and uterine devices. Decades of research support their safety, and serious but very rare side effects such as blood clots are finally much better understood. But other areas of research lag, and we still do not know as much as we would like about how these medications affect women’s mental health.

Discuss the guidelines for prescribing hormonal birth control to women with a known history of depression and/or anxiety. How will you manage a patient who reports feeling depressed after starting hormonal birth control?

            Inverse Matrix

I need help with a Calculus question. All explanations and answers will be used to help me learn.

An electronics company produces transistors, resistors, and computer chips. Each transistor requires 3 unitsof copper, 2 units of zinc, and 1 unit of glass. Each resistor requires 3,1, and 2 units of the these materials, and each computer chip requires 2,1, and 2 units of these materials, respectively. How many of each product can be made with1370 units of copper, 620 units of zinc, and 970 units of glass? Solve this exercise by using the inverse of the coefficient matrix to solve a system of equations.
