Assignment 1 – Assessing Reliable Sources

Assignment 1: Assessing Reliable Sources

The goal of this assignment is to introduce you to methods used to determine reliable sources of nutrition information. It is important to know how to evaluate health information and turn to reliable sources and experts when in need of specific advice. Be sure to read the Health Connection 1 section at the end of Chapter 1 – “How can you find and recognize credible nutrition information?” (p.27-29). Review the first three websites in Resources for Chapters 1 & 2 for more detail and use this (Links to an external site.) NIH guide.

Part 1

– Find five websites that provide information related to nutrition. Please try and select websites that will be helpful for you in the future and provide strong scientific evidence that is reliable. Please make sure these websites provide information to the public.
– Analyze each website and determine whether it is a reliable source of information by answering the “W” questions.
– Assign each website a rating of 1-10 where 10 is the highest. Your goal is to assess reliability of the information the site provides.
– Write the following for each website:

  • Name of the website and its web address (URL)
  • Describe the site and the kind of information it provides
  • Your analysis of reliability, using the 5 “W” questions
  • The grade you gave it and explain the reasons for assigning this grade

Part 2

– Find two nutrition experts, or professionals, or individuals who are giving advice in nutrition on the web. You can use the names from your research of websites in Part 1.
– Write the following for each expert:

  • Name of the person and where you found him/her.
  • How did you come across this expert? (Give reference.) Why did you decide to choose them?
  • Include their academic degrees, professional credentials, their professional accomplishments, and their current job position.
  • Based upon the information in Health Connection 1, do you consider them to be reliable nutrition expert? Why or why not? Explain. You need to justify your opinion.

Save your paper in .doc (.docx) or PDF format and submit as attachment.

Nurs 6050 Walden University

I’m trying to learn for my Nursing class and I’m stuck. Can you help?

In this Assignment, you will practice this type of leadership by advocating for a healthcare program. Equally as important, you will advocate for a collaborative role of the nurse in the design and implementation of this program. To do this, assume you are preparing to be interviewed by a professional organization/publication regarding your thoughts on the role of the nurse in the design and implementation of new healthcare programs.

To Prepare:

  • Review the Resources and reflect on your thinking regarding the role of the nurse in the design and implementation of new healthcare programs.
  • Select a healthcare program within your practice and consider the design and implementation of this program.
  • Reflect on advocacy efforts and the role of the nurse in relation to healthcare program design and implementation.

The Assignment: (2–3 pages)

In a 2- to 3-page paper, create an interview transcript of your responses to the following interview questions:

  • Tell us about a healthcare program, within your practice. What are the costs and projected outcomes of this program?
  • Who is your target population?
  • What is the role of the nurse in providing input for the design of this healthcare program? Can you provide examples?
  • What is your role as an advocate for your target population for this healthcare program? Do you have input into design decisions? How else do you impact design?
  • What is the role of the nurse in healthcare program implementation? How does this role vary between design and implementation of healthcare programs? Can you provide examples?
  • Who are the members of a healthcare team that you believe are most needed to implement a program? Can you explain why?

Currently work as a rapid response nurse and wanted to write this paper on early intervention and outcome on patients with sepsis in a hospital setting.

Can you help me understand this Science question?

In France, they don’t necessarily have a “homeland security” instead it is replaced by the countries Ministry of Interior. The Interior acts as the heart of the State’s action throughout the country to serve the French people’s needs and meet their expectations in the area of safety and security (FMI, 2019). A more in depth mission statement is stated in their Defense and National Security Strategy Review, “The integrity of French territory and the protection of French civilians are central to their vital interests” (2017). In addition, French interest includes all factors that influence its security, prosperity, and position as a developed country in the global arena.

This ideology is very similar to our nations own agenda regarding “homeland security”. When we look at the United States homeland security mission, it encompasses both the security aspects of our nation’s key resources and public safety (DHS, 2002). This reflects the economic stability of France and the protection of French civilians.

However, the scope of it begins to change when we consider the size of the United States and its political climate versus that of France. Which allows the Department of Homeland Security to act as an umbrella for multiple agencies that France currently do not have or do not need. For example, France currently has an open border policy so entities like Customs and Border Protection or Immigration Custom Enforcement are nonexistent.

PJM380 MOD5 Discussion post responses 200 words each

I’m studying and need help with a Management question to help me learn.

Please respond to both POST1: and POST2: in at least 200 words each. I have included the professors original post only as reference.

Professors original post:

Recent advancements in project management have emerged, transcending the traditional model for project development.

Compare and contrast the advantages and disadvantages of the waterfall planning model with the Agile PM approach. How are the duties of the Scrum Master similar to or different from a project manager?

POST1:

Within the world of project management, there are different methodologies that can be used in the planning and execution phase of a project. While some organizations might prefer one method over another, there is no single right one to use. However, before one is chosen, it should be examined to see if the features, advantages, and disadvantages are the right fit for the project.

Waterfall Planning Model

The waterfall planning model is a more traditional and formalized method. Waterfall planning involves thorough planning and structure of the project prior to the development of the deliverable. Scope, time, and cost are formalized, and any changes must go through a formalized process (Grech, 2015). The project manager’s role is to ensure the successful completion of each lifecycle following the established scope, time, and cost.

Agile Methodologies

Agile approaches in project management allows for more freedom in the project management process. It allows for stakeholders and the customer to prioritize the deliverables and make adjustments along the way. Managing scope changes can be faster, but this is not always the case. While there are additional creative freedoms, there still is a framework in place. There is accountability and an assessment process to ensure the measurement of the deliverables is meeting the needs of the customer. In these projects, there is an assigned scrum master. It is the role of the scrum master to help teams overcome obstacles to achieve their goals (Martinelli & Milosevich, 2016).

POST2:

Hello Class,

Waterfall planning and Agile planning are both used in planning and executing a project. The Waterfall planning model takes after its name where one activity must be completed before moving on to another like a waterfall starts at the top and works its way down without deviating from its path. According to the writers at Guru99, the waterfall methodology will only move in sequential order, so the team will only move on to the next step or testing once the previous step is completed (2020). A disadvantage of this is it can hinder development if the project needs to be adjusted the team can not move back to make changes from a previous phase as easily as they could in the Agile approach.

The Agile approach is a bit more, for lack of better term fluid. It allows the team to go between development and testing activities at the same time. An advantage of this is it allows constant communication between teams which will hopefully develop stronger and better-tested projects since they can discuss testing and further development directly after prototypes have been made. This model takes more expert managing since there is a less structured design to follow.

A Scrum Master utilizing the Agile method is more a coach and faciliatory while a project manager will help more to manage the project timeline, resources, and overall scope of the project (Frederico, A. 2015). According to Martinelli & Milosevich (2016), the Scrum Team is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, testing, communicating, and documenting product increments. The Scrum Master is responsible for problem-solving any issues the team may have that will hinder the project outline. They will help ensure the scrum process is properly used.
