A good PRESS RELEASE creates a multiplier effect, whereby your message is amplified by media outlets, reaching many more individuals than you could reach with your own personal efforts. Task  READ: Press release tipsPreview the document (3 pages from Making the News, a guide for activists and nonprofits, by Jason Salzman) and “Eight AP style mistakes frequently found in today’s press releases”Preview the document WRITE: 1. Your first DRAFT of your press release. Choose a specific event that you want to promote and write a release that provides reporters with enough information for them to make an informed decision about whether their audience will be interested in a story about the event. 2. Provide a distribution LIST that includes At least FIVE media outlets and the specific reporters’ names and email addresses to which you will send your release. Indicate how far in advance you will send the release to each recipient Describe the target segment you believe you will reach through each media outlet  Criteria for Success  Use the Press release tips as a guide to ensure you include all the necessary information. Write in 3rd person Write the body as a series of paragraphs of 1-3 sentences  that each cover ONE feature/benefit of your offering to allow the report to skim the release for items that are relevant for their audience. Include images or describe the kinds of images that you would include Just the facts, no flowery language or hyperbole Include a compelling quote (this is the only place where opinion is ok) Make text LINKS for reporters to find more information Separate out the WHAT WHERE WHEN

For your Take-Home Essay, you are asked to make connections on the analytical frameworks and concepts noted in at least three of the readings in Part 11B: A Menu of Conceptual Frameworks in Week 11. Please clearly indicate notes on a minimum of three scholars who you plan to write on in your Take-Home Essay. For each scholar, indicate:  o What is the analytical framework or concept that you will examine by the scholar(s)? This is similar to what we did for Week 11 seminar.  o How does this analytical framework or concept and the way the scholar implements it help you better understand something about radio or podcasting? How is this a contribution to improve knowledge in the field of Radio Studies?  o What are some of the weaknesses of the analytical framework or concept that, for example, you feel would be difficult to apply in real-life situations?  o How does this scholar’s work or concept help you better understand what you produced for your audio piece for your Final Project?  o Be sure to note how the scholar exemplifies their content (for example, to what real-life events do scholars apply their concepts and analytical frameworks?).  Historical information helps demonstrate your knowledge of radio and podcasting. The key is to choose one or two historical aspects that directly illustrate what you want to focus on in your Take-Home Essay. Everything has a historical context. You may find that you weave historical analysis in with your analysis of what the scholars write. Harrison’s conceptualization of the Black community through campus-based hip-hop radio looks at the 1990s, for example. Even Brekke’s analysis of “Yellow Rain” has historical qualities to it in that it shows how a podcast investigates the past. Whatever is in the past is historical. Historical analysis should include:  o Why is this specific historical context helpful in better understanding your topic and/or Radio Studies?  o Is there something about this historical context that influenced your Final Project?

Select an organization of your choice. The organization can be a for-profit or a not-for-profit organization in Canada or any part of the world. Identify an organizational or business need that you feel can be served by a digital communication campaign. Part 1 Conduct an audit of the digital communication media and vehicles that your chosen organization currently uses. Pinpoint gaps and excesses. Gaps are the digital communication media or vehicles the organization should be using but are not. Excesses are the digital communication media or vehicles the organization currently uses but that you find redundant or ineffective. Based on this audit, please state what you would recommend for a more efficient digital media presence. Your recommendations would also take into consideration the resources available to the organization. E.g. not-for-profits usually work with small budgets and fewer employees. Part 2 Determine and segment your target audiences. Create personas for each target audience segment. These personas would include details of a typical member of different audience segments including age, gender identity expression, income, lifestyle, values. You can use demographics and psychographics to draw up the personas. You are welcome to add any other information you deem fit to offer a more complete understanding of each target audience segment. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Please compose this as a document you would present to your chosen organization’s CEO. As such, the language and approach would be professional. This is to be a workplace document not a submission to an academic journal. You would of course apply the academic learning you have gleaned to the conceptualization of the document. But your intended audience is the organization’s busy chief executive. Consider using footnotes for references on each page instead of in-sentence citations. Alternately, you can use endnotes for all references. Use APA citation standards for your footnotes or endnotes. You must cite any outside research or articles you bring into your document. Double-space the document with margins of at least one inch on all sides. For body copy, please use 12-point size and a serif font like Garamond, Century Schoolbook, Book Antiqua, etc. Appendices do not count toward the page limit. However, please be judicious about the volume of the appendices.

Part A) Provide, in your own words, a thorough summary of the article’s main argument about the ways that the visual social media platform Douyin creates “positive energy.” What is positive energy? How is it embedded or structured in this platform? According to the authors of this study, what is the cultural and political function of positive energy? (500) words) Part B) Select ONE meme from Douyin  (or on TikTok, if this is the only platform that’s accessible to you) that exemplifies positive energy as defined in the article. Then Provide a visual analysis of this meme, drawing from one or several of the methods learned in earlier modules, focusing on a discussion of how these visual elements help to construct positive energy. (600 words)

A.  Describe your intended audience and why the topic is important to this audience (suggested length of 2–5 sentences).   B.  Create a presentation plan (e.g., outline) for a five- to seven-minute presentation on your chosen topic by including the following parts: 1.  An effective introduction that includes the following aspects: •   an attention-getting opening •   a thesis statement •   a preview of the main points of the presentation   Note: For a five- to seven-minute speech, two to three main points are recommended.   2.  Supporting evidence (e.g., statistics, published research) for the main points   Note: Avoid using personal opinion, personal research, or personal experience as your supporting evidence.   3.  an effective conclusion that includes a summary of the main points and closing comments. 4.  a minimum of three credible sources a.  Acknowledge sources within the text for all  content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized, and provide a reference list that includes the author, date of publication, title, and location of information (e.g., publisher, journal, website URL) for each  source. APA citation style is strongly  encouraged.          Note: Refer to the attached APA Guide for Communication Performance Tasks if needed.   C.   Attach one visual element (e.g., chart, graph, picture, model) that supports one of the main points with acknowledgement of any source information used.

How do new media alter the relations between a product and its consumers or audience when it is remediated through new media technologies? Draw on three different works of popular culture that have undergone remediation, or look at one work that has gone through three forms of remediation. How has each remediation changed its content or its relationship to different audiences? What remains the same? Does remediation lead to a profoundly different set of relationships between culture, consumers, and industry?

How is the media influencing the interpretation of Black Lives Matter movement?

You will identify a topic within the domain of interpersonal communication that is of interest to you (GOSSIPING IN THE WORKPLACE), conduct a literature review of current research on the topic, identify a theory(RELATIONAL DIALETIC THEORY, RAWLINS)  that helps explain the topic, and summarize issues and perspectives from your research in a 7-10-page paper. Your paper should have the following sections: introduction, literature review (organized by heading and sub-headings), theory/theoretical framework (where you explain your chosen theory and connect it to the topic), and a conclusion.  Your literature review should summarize relevant research/studies on the topic, identify major themes, summarize the associations between and across a set concept/ideas, and present your argument as to What the problem is (your topic for the paper), Who it affects, Why we should care, and What we can do about it (… not necessarily in that order, but addressing those issues). You’ll do a mini, half-page version for the introduction, and then expand on that in the rest of the literature review. A good literature review also utilizes academically rigorous articles to construct a persuasive argument. Your paper should be typed (12-point font), APA Style 6th ed., double-spaced, and it should include a reference page for all of the research that is cited.

This is an analysis by using the Social Justice/ Black Lives Matter campaign in the 2020 NBA bubble and examine it and by making strong arguments using sound reasoning and strong evidence about your analysis of that artifact. The analysis should contribute a unique finding or observation about communication or the human condition. This analysis paper is where you show your creativity and unique perspective. you can explain both the overt and covert messages about society, power, relationships, gender, knowledge, etc. that the artifact communicates to us. (I have already wrote about what the artifact is and attached it, so this is a continuation and I analysis of the social media and Black Lives Matter campaign in the NBA playoffs)
