It is said that the Chinese character for crisis is a combination of the words for danger and opportunity. In your opinion, what dangers discussed this week also can be seen as opportunities for positive change in higher education? How might they affect your career as a higher education professional?TechnologiesStudent/ teacher retentionDistance learningLimited resourcesStandardized test= learning outcomeDiscussion Answer:During the readings, this week there were many suggestions that pose a danger to higher education; technology, student retention, employee deficits, etc. but what if these dangers could also be opportunities for many colleges. One danger that was pointed out was technology that can be more advanced and may not be available to many students. Looking at today’s situation with COVID-19 many students had the choice to remain online or be on campus, but they have no access to resources such as computers, Wi-Fi, or printers. That leaves students struggling to access work which may lead to problems finishing school all together. Taking this situation and applying it to this week’s discussion how can this turn into an opportunity? Well, it allows the university and colleges to move into full virtual learning. With virtual learning it can increase the student’s retention and increase the attendees of students who go to college. Birnbaum mentions that virtual enrollments are growing, so why don’t we take advantage of that situation and grow with the situation? We as universities have to learn to adapt better with the situations and growth of what is thrown at us.Virtual learning is also more beneficial to those who cannot afford the full value of going to college. Majority of individuals would skip going to college if it meant they would not be in debt trying to get a degree. That has the opposite effect on the university as far as trying to get people to attend college. Birnbaum also mentions that the more disruptive technologies are relatively cheaper and simpler than traditional technology. It is also better in forms of convenience then traditional education. Technology can be the savior of our jobs in higher education rather than the downfall because it can be traditional or distant learning. In the time we are in now it has saved the education of college students and also opened the economy to allow more individuals jobs in higher education.ReferencesBirnbaum, R. (2005). The Innovator’s Dilemma: When New Technologies Cause Great Firms to Fail/The Innovator’s Solution: Creating and Sustaining Successful Growth. Academe, 91(1), 80–84. is bravoThank you for your response which highlighted several of the challenges and opportunities in the higher education system.Which of the resources in Week 1 did you find to be the most informative in guiding your response? [ORDER SOLUTION] Methodology Of Qualitative

SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS :  1- Respond to the following prompts in the Research Designs discussion forum by Deadline:  As a researcher you have chosen to conduct an Ethnography, what research design would you use? Defend your choice. Would you consider a mixed methodology? Why or why not? 2- Comment: on both responses as they will serve as a sample to follow responding to the prompts :  Sample of response: # 1 Q.M  As a researcher conducting an Ethnography, I would choose a mixed methodology of qualitative and quantitative research, but qualitative research would be the dominant and overarching design.  For example, I’m highly interested in the social and academic challenges faced by refugee students in America as well as those overseas. If I were to conduct an Ethnography on refugee students in America, numerical data would undoubtedly help but the essential information that will help me devise a plan to solve the tsunami of problems they face will be obtained through interviews and personal interactions–all qualitative.   I look forward to hearing your feedback as well as reading your responses to this discussion assignment   Sample of response #2 A.C    As a researcher who chosen to conduct an Ethnography, I would use a mixed methodology. According to Newbold (2018), Ethnography research includes the following steps: identify the research question, determine the location(s) for research, formulate presentation method, acquire permissions and access, observe and participate, interview, collect archival data, and code and analyze data. Glesne (2016) combining methodologies is common with Ethnography as one may include a quantifiable survey in one’s study, yet most of the methods are qualitative (p. 16).  Reference Glesne, C.
