[ORDER SOLUTION] Personification In Literature
MUST BE IN MLA FORMAT. You must have a thesis in which you make a specific claim about the poem(s) on which you choose to focus. This claim should indicate the argument you will be making about the poem and provide a direct response to the prompt. In the body of your essay, offer close analysis of the details and specific textual evidence to support your thesis. DO NOT make claims about how events make a poem more interesting or engaging, how they make the reader more curious, or how they heighten suspense. Such claims are usually true enough and can often be quite insightful, but they are not the kind of arguable claims that most often lead to engaged or engaging analytical essays. Your feelings, hunches, and guesses do not provide adequate support for your claims in an academic essay. PROMPT: Write an essay exploring how personification (Figure of speech) contributes to the emotional effect of the poem and its theme. POEM/SOURCE: “Because I could not stop for Death” By Emily Dickinson

[ORDER SOLUTION] Class Discussion
** Does not have to be 275 words..this is discussion post** Analyze the ways people often debate them in problematic ways. There are, to be certain, good debates around these issues, but, for various reasons, these topics tend to bring out less rational arguments. Those are the ones we are focusing on. This week your contribution to the class discussion consists of: 1) 3 fallacies that people commonly use when discussing these topics (e.g., a common fallacy used related to gay rights is the Slippery Slope fallacy). Explain a) the way the fallacy you identified is used in relation to that specific topic b) why it often works to convince people c) why it’s not rational. 2) 2 emotive words that people frequently use when discussing these topics (e.g., people often derisively use the term slacker when referring to someone who smokes marijuana as a way to minimize any arguments in favor of legalizing marijuana). Explain a) why emotive words like the one you identified are effective in this case b) why it’s a distraction from the harder work of thinking about the complexities of that issue c) what word would be more cognitive and should be used in a serious debate instead. As always, the explanations and analyses must by entirely your own, in your own words.
[ORDER SOLUTION] Logical Connection
Problem Solution Essay Sheet Purpose: Finding a problem and trying to solve it is a common situation you will find in any workplace. Being able to identify, explain, and defend your solution is a task that awaits you in your professional life. Task: Now that you have found a problem, it is time to try to solve it. For this essay, you will define the problem and advocate for an improvement. Please note, the term improvement. I am not asking you to fix all aspects of the topic. I am asking you to make a suggestion to improve an aspect of the issue. In the first section of your paper, you will define and establish your problem. What is the problem? Who is affected? Does it cause any other problems? In the second part of the essay, you will explore a solution. Why this solution and not another? How does this solution improve the situation? You will need to take into consideration alternative view points and address them accordingly. Be aware of your ethos in the paper. Your sources need to be credible and valid to establish your ethical appeal. Be on the lookout for fallacies in your sources and in your work. They diminish your ethos and logos. Take care to craft the logic of your essay. Be aware of the flaws inherent in inductive and deductive reasoning. Be explicit with the reader when explaining logical connections and how information supports your claim. The quickest way to connect to your audience is emotion (pathos). You can use this to your advantage (but do not abuse it!). Making the problem and solution immediate to your audience will help. Avoid ridicule, insults, and emotional diatribes. This will cause the audience to turn against you. You will have at least five outside sources. You must use MLA to document these sources. In addition to the essay, you will submit a short document that describes: the audience for the essay, why the audience is appropriate to helping your solve the problem, how your audience choice helped you refine your counter points, and how audience helped you choose your tone. Knowledge: You can draw from your research from the semester and prior essays. Skills: I am looking at your ability to synthesize information, create a cogent argument, answer counter points, and use the rhetorical tools to your advantage. This essay will explore your ability to make a claim and support it. You are expected to use techniques we have discussed previously for other essays and techniques we examined for this essay. You will need: to create a specific, unified and restricted claim. to use examples effectively. to show mastery of organization by effective placement of ideas. to fairly present opposing views. to integrate sources effectively. to avoid using fallacies. to use academic style effectively. to cite using MLA The essay will be: at least 1,250 to 2,000 words not counting the Works Cited in MLA (both in-text citations and works cited entries must be used) in Academic Style or the appropriate style as outlined in the supporting document If the essay is not completely documented in MLA or does not fulfill the basic requirements of the assignment, then you will receive a zero.
[ORDER SOLUTION] Multimodal Composition
Persuade your target audience that a) your topic is important and b) that your ideas for future research on that topic should be implemented Use this journal post to explore your ideas for the three essential parts of the Rhetorical Situation: Author This might seem obvious (it’s you!), but here I want you to fully explain how you will function as the author of this multimodal composition. You are a student, an expert on the research that you did for the LR, and….? What else do YOU bring to the table? What ETHOS do you have? Why is YOUR PERSPECTIVE on this research topic unique? Subject / “Text” Again, push past the obvious on the subject/text of your multimodal proposal (research from the LR and new ideas) to be specific about what you envision including in the “message” of your composition. This is the time to think expansively and creatively—not practically. What artifacts are associated with your topic that you could include? What images, sound bites, voices, objects, texts, etc. would work well with the research from your LR? What arguments, debates, counterpoints, and IDEAS might you consider including? Audience Audience is the least fixed concept of the three essential elements because you get to choose who your audience is going to be. At this stage, it is okay to pitch different audiences for your work — who exactly would you want to read/watch/see your multimodal proposal? Be as SPECIFIC as you can here. Visualize that audience. For instance, if you decide to make a podcast or youtube video for this project, who would be your ideal subscriber? If you made a blog, who would be your ideal readers? If you made a digital presentation, who would you IDEALLY want to view it? Modality Reflect on Wednesday’s discussion exercise about how different modalities shape different kinds of arguments. Now, think carefully about the audience that you chose for this assignment: What modalit(ies) might you use to best reach that audience? What types of images/sound clips/videos/graphics/text would *add significant value* to the information you gathered for the Literature Review?
