[ORDER SOLUTION] Speech Evaluation

Background Information: Who is the speaker? What is the title of the speech? When was the speech delivered? Where was the speech delivered? (location, event, occasion) Who is the intended audience of the speech? Content/Persuasive Analysis: What does the speech say and How does it persuade?? What is the tone of the speech? What is the purpose/objective of the speech? What is the overall persuasive technique used in the speech? Use evidence from the speech to support your answer. If necessary   Emotional Appeal: These are appeals to the emotions of the audience. What evidence can you find of this persuasive technique in the speech?     Logical Appeal: These are appeals to logic and fact, or to the power of reason. What evidence can you find of this persuasive technique in the speech?   Ethical Appeal: These are appeals based on the credibility and manner of the speaker. What evidence can you find of this persuasive technique in the speech? How effective was this speech as a informative/persuasive speech? Why? GIVE REASONS! The Introduction  Your essay should begin with an introduction that does the following: (1) grabs the reader’s attention.  There are many ways to do this.  You could start with a fascinating quote from the essay or list a relevant statistic.   (2)  STATE YOUR THESIS.  I will want to know up front the position you plan to take in your essay.  (3) Provide background information.  This is always a tricky one.  You should provide enough contextual information so that your intended audience can follow the argument you intend to make.  Assume a typical audience of college students and take a moment to reflect on what they might know about the topic.     Make Your Argument The body of the paper is where you offer your argument. (Defend your topic choice – why is it the best/worst, etc. – clearly define your criteria and how your subject meets or does not meet these criteria)    Use clear topic sentences.  Begin each paragraph with a sentence that introduces the content of the paragraph and connects the paragraph to your thesis.  Be sure to provide specific examples.   Write Your Conclusion Most college professors will expect you to provide a conclusion that (1) restates your thesis and (2) provides closure and ties up loose ends.  The same strategies that work for grabbing a reader’s attention in the introduction also work for a conclusion.

[ORDER SOLUTION] Exploratory Essay

ESSAY #2: Exploratory Essay Length: 3-4 pages Format: typed, double-spaced, 10-12 point font, 1-inch margins   The purpose of this essay is to begin examining an issue that will become the focus of your Advocacy Proposal project later this term. It is important, therefore, to choose a topic that interests you, as you will be spending a significant amount of time on it. In an exploratory essay, you may not necessarily know how you feel about a subject or what you want to say about it. Your research and extended analysis will lead you to a detailed and substantial essay. In other words, your mind shouldn’t be made up before you begin your research & analysis. An important part of your job in this Exploratory Essay is to examine/analyze arguments from opposing sides about an issue of interest.   Starting Out: Choose a topic/issue that interests you and at the same time invites inquiry. What do you already know about this topic? What would you like to explore? Why are you drawn to this subject matter? What is problematic or confusing about this topic? What needs clarity? How can you advance the reader’s understanding of this issue in a way that is engaging and thoughtful? Why is this subject important to you? To your peers? To society? Clearly, you cannot write a successful exploratory essay without curiosity. Whatever your topic, you must come up with questions that open up lines of thought and carve out research opportunities. You should, of course, look for/offer tentative answers to these questions. Be sure to analyze the differing arguments from your research. What are the core cultural values at play with the issue? An exploratory essay should reflect your thoughtful engagement with a subject and your subsequent research. It should be organized in a logical and effective manner, and it should utilize grammar and style to communicate with clarity and precision. There are multiple ways to organize an exploratory essay, but the following components should be present: Intro: introduce topic; identify controlling question (perhaps a problem that needs solving) Personal Engagement with the topic (establish your credibility by explaining why you are considering this topic—what led you to this point? why is it relevant and important to you?) Questions (10-12, including potentially a controlling one) that reveal your ability to identify relevant and interesting aspects of the issue Research Potential: how will you go about moving forward on this topic?  What sources already exist that will help you advance your knowledge or solve the issues you have identified?  Evaluate these sources and arguments. What potential problems might you encounter as you move forward? Conclusion: make an attempt to justify why this is a valid realm of inquiry; explain why the questions (and the potential answers) are relevant to the reader Ultimately, I want you to walk away from this essay with a much deeper understanding of a complex situation/issue, ready to tackle your Advocacy Proposal.

[ORDER SOLUTION] Art Production

At this moment in time, we are in an extremely unique place. School Campuses are closed, theaters are closed, people are asked to shelter in place, and most of us are working from home.  This is true for artists and performers who are now stuck at home looking for new ways of doing their art. I have posted a page of links to theatres and arts companies who are doing what they can during this time to continue to be viable and  produce art for their audiences.  I would like you to take a look at some of these groups and what they are doing. What do you think about it? Do you think that this is going to change the consumption of the arts in the future? Will it change the way you consume arts? When this situation has passed (and yes, this too will pass)  how will it change the arts? Will it change our view of arts? If so, how? Or will it just go back to the way it was with no lasting impression?  https://www.hampsteadtheatre.com/whats-on/hampstead-theatre-at-home/
