Assignment Content Evidence that supports a conclusion is part of the research process. Literature reviews often accompany research papers in the form of a summary and synthesis of the published information about the research topic. Although this week’s assignment is not a literature review, it is designed to familiarize you with the practice of finding appropriate sources and information on a topic. Find three original research articles that apply to your research topic. The articles must be research articles (not informative articles) that are peer reviewed, recent (published within 5 years), and statistically significant. Using the following as headings in your paper, write a 260-word summary of each article in which you identify. participants independent variable(s), dependent variable(s), methods, and results. Determine whether these articles are suitable for inclusion in a literature review for your research topic. If they are not, explain why. If they are, explain how the information can be used to inform practice. Compile the APA citations, the summaries and a link to the article in one document. Proposing a Solution Minimum 1000 words In your prospectus, you presented a problem associated with the topic of food, and you offered a tentative solution after planning your course of action, your purpose, and your intended audience. In your position paper, you defined your topic and indicated your position, and you evaluated sources while investigating the issue further. Your definition/effect essay argued to convince your audience that the problem exists and that it leads to consequences all proving that a solution to this problem is necessary. Your causal analysis essay argued for potential causes behind this problem, presenting evidence regarding the catalysts that cause the problem to exist and/or continue. Your refutation paper offered the most convincing counterarguments to your positions while seeking to refute them in order to strengthen your claim. Your final essay, the Proposal, will require you to put these components together and weave elements of the definition/effect, causal, and refutation together with a final solution, or solutions to the problem at hand.  Ultimately, the consequences of the problem that you discussed in the definition/effect paper, the causes you presented in the causal analysis paper, and the points of opposition and responses you presented in your last essay all provide background needed to prepare for a convincing argument for your solution to the problem. This means you will be reusing portions of those three essays and attaching them to the final portion of this project, the solution. Your introduction, the hook/definition/background regarding the problem, can be reused. However, the thesis for this paper should assert a claim that argues for the solution you ultimately propose now that you are knowledgeable about your topic from all angles. One paragraph of the body of your essay should devote itself to presenting the consequences of the problem (condense and revise your effect essay and integrate the strongest components.) Another paragraph of the final essay should present the causes leading to the problem (condense and revise your causal essay and integrate the strongest arguments). An additional paragraph of the final essay should integrate the strongest counterargument(s) you presented in your last essay (condense and revise your refutation essay and integrate the strongest arguments). Finally, and most importantly , the final essay must develop a solution. This should be the most developed portion of you paper! Devote several paragraphs to the presentation and development of your solution.  The purpose of this final essay is to argue for a solution to the problem. You may have presented tentative solutions as conclusions in previous papers, but for this final paper, the solution should comprise the majority of your essay’s body. You must convince your audience that the solution you are proposing can work to resolve the problem and is worth the effort to be put into it. Please be sure to review the notes on how to write a solution for more information on possible ways to do this.  You must support the claim that your thesis makes by offering subclaims that help assert the potential effectiveness of the solution you are proposing. Finally, offer a strong and resonating conclusion for your reader. Synthesize your argument and leave the reader with a strong impression, something thought-provoking in your conclusion. By defining the topic, arguing for its effects and causes, and dealing with opposition, you prove yourself a credible source to your audience and prepare them to accept the solution you propose and detail. Be sure to make your case for your solution strongly.  Utilize authoritative and credible sources to help you assert your claim. Use examples, similar situations, anecdotes, details to help convince your reader.  Organize your essay in a way to best convince your audience. For example, if your counterarguments are in response to opposition to your causal analysis, then it would be best to place those close together. If your effects are easily remedied by your solution, place those components close together. If you feel your audience must first understand the causes, place these early in the body of your paper. You must determine the organizational pattern that best suits your purpose.  In text citations must be formatted in accordance with MLA guidelines as should the Works Cited page.
