Exercise Science: Head Personal Trainer   You have been hired, as a Head Personal Trainer, by a local gym. The Gym contains a consistent membership base of 1,000 members. Your primary job is to design and implement a for profit personal training program. Currently the gym offers memberships that include use of the facilities and access to all Group Fitness Classes but no personal training for members. Your program must include a personal training program mission statement, number of necessary personal trainers, your job description as head personal trainer, staff personal trainers’ job descriptions, staff personal trainer’s hiring process, and a payroll criterion – for trainers: how you will record personal training sessions, collect funds for personal training sessions completed, and distribute trainer’s cut of personal training fee. Provide an overview of gym’s facilities. You must also provide a daily trainer work schedule covering all hours the gym is open, a member fitness assessment protocol – including sample beginner workout, and a private personal training client assessment protocol – including a sample workout for a specific client. (You may not use a client or a plan from a previous course.)   The owner of the gym desires to gain additional profit from her members. Be sure to explain in detail the profits that will be gained through your program. You will also need to establish a personal training program marketing plan. This is in addition to the gym’s marketing plan. In this scenario you get to choose what is in your gym. The only restrictions are that it already includes group fitness and basic cardio and resistance equipment. Remember to choose a specific location and define your clientele using actual demographics and specifically those demographics that are included in the 1,000 current gym members. Your plan is to be submitted to the owner (your instructor) of the facility for review.   Project Objectives 1.) Require students to research information current to today’s industry. 2.) Fortunately for most public health professionals engaged in community health assessment, there is no need to seek all-new data in order to assess a community’s public health. Most community health assessments start with available data. Great care must be taken when aggregating or comparing data sources because many challenges may arise. For example, a public health program to reduce adolescent smoking may be seeking data on local asthma rates, but the only asthma rates available may be for younger children. As a public health professional, it is essential for you to become familiar with data sources, and to evaluate data for their relevancy to the population and public health problems being assessed. For this Discussion, review data sources included in the Resources and current literature. Then, research multiple quantitative data sources (e.g., census or local, state, and national public health agencies) that could be used for your Scholar-Practitioner Project community health assessment. With these thoughts in mind: Post a brief description of two quantitative data sources you might use to develop your community health profile for your community health assessment. Explain why these data sources are relevant. Finally, describe two challenges you might face in collecting these data sources and explain why. Pernicious Anemia Case Analysis Teri goes to see her PCP after feeling depressed last couple of months as well as experiencing a seizure earlier this week. Human trafficking, extreme poverty, preventable diseases, the opioid crisis and the lack of adequate low-income housing are a few current societal concerns worthy of social change. Nurses and healthcare leaders are in a good position to shape and influence health care policy.   Think of a cause you believe in strongly. Explore some of the issues and committees your legislators are involved in and select at least one that interest you or align with your beliefs. You may also contact your legislator’s office and speak to his or her legislative assistant by calling the U.S. Capitol switchboard operator at (202) 224-3121 for the Senate and (202) 225-3121 for the House. Legislator assistants are very knowledgeable about the legislator’s agenda and can provide a wealth of information.    This assignment will be at least 1500 words or more. This week reflect on advocacy, collaborative partnerships with other health care practitioners and stakeholders, and the policy making process and write a paper that addresses the following:   Describe the policy issue, policy problem of interest or a particular bill that your legislator has introduced Elaborate on why the policy matters and what you can possibly do to strengthen the policy?  Briefly define the role you would play as an advocate for the healthcare consumer and healthcare professionals. The case study provides an opportunity to put fitness knowledge into practice and design a program for a sample client. Think of the case study as your first paying client. Give as much detail as someone new to fitness would need. In addition, provide the rationale for each of your decisions as if you were discussing the program with educated fitness professionals. The following provides a formatting approach that you can use when structuring your answer. Please note, however, the content serves as a minimal representation of what is expected. To prove your competency in program design, you will need to provide greater detail, as well as rationale for your program decisions.
