History

The paper should be writing in a Chicago Format  12 ‘font Times New Roman, double-spaced, and have a length of 5 pages (not including bibliography and cover page). You are to use scholarly articles and books for your research. The topic may address any aspect of Latin American history, including its people, religion, politics, events, and cultures.

The Holocaust Fifty-one years ago, camera crews with the British and American armies entered the Nazi death camps and filmed the horror they found there.  For decades, that film was stored in the archives of the Imperial War Museum in London.  The documentary was unfinished with missing sound tracks.  But the directors, including Alfred Hitchcock, had developed a script to go with the pictures.  Frontline presented that film unedited, as close as possible to what the producers intended over a half-century ago. They made it as a document to serve our collective memory.   After viewing “Memory of the Camps,” how has your understanding of World War II changed?  What are your thoughts surrounding this genocide that claimed the lives of nearly 12 million “undesirables” (including not only Jews, but also Africans, Asians, the physically and mentally challenged, homosexuals, gypsies, and on and on the list could go of all the groups singled out by Hitler and the Third Reich) from throughout the European continent?   Section A:  By the end of the war, as stated in the film, the dead [had] been buried.  It remains for us to care for these, the living.  It remains for us to hope that Germans may help mend what they have broken, and cleanse what they have befouled.  Thousands of German people were made to see for themselves, to bury the dead, to file past the victims.  This was the end of the journey they had so confidently begun in 1933.  Twelve years?  No, in terms of barbarity and brutality they had traveled backwards for 12,000 years. 13 colonies Commercial Skit: Georgia vs Pennsylvania Characters: Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Europeans (audience). Step 1: Need enough information gathered about Georgia and Pennsylvania to create a skit commercial to persuade an audience that it is better to move to Georgia or Pennsylvania. Talking points for the commercial skit need to include: Location, Economy/trades/job opportunities, Government/Laws, weather/climate, Education, & Religion/Beliefs.  Step 2: Write the skit. Create a line that would get your audiences’ attention. This is the first part of the skit commercial. Then we as the skit is written we need to add in reasons on what makes our colony worth moving too (Georgia or Pennsylvania). Create a closing or something that concludes the commercial. Create a jingle (short sone or tune used in commercials to advertise). For example: “McDonald’s is “I’m loving it!” Step 3: This commercial needs to be 2 minutes in length for Georgia and 2 minutes for Pennsylvania. The characters are Georgia and Pennsylvania.

The Preamble is one of the most recognizable parts of the U.S. Constitution and announces its purpose. It reads: “We the People of the United States…do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”  Embedded in the Preamble are the specific goals of the document, which include: forming a “more perfect Union” (binding together thirteen states), establishing justice (legal equality for all), insuring domestic tranquility (peace at home), providing for the common defense (from foreign enemies), promoting the general welfare (the health and safety of its people), and securing the blessings of liberty (freedom) to the founding generation (1780s) and future generations. Pick TWO of the goals outlined above and provide a brief description of how the drafters of the Constitution attempted to meet them, drawing on the document itself (Articles 1-7 and the Bill of Rights).
