This is an expository essay please try to use quotes and comparisons whenever possible. The three attached files are the only sources you will need for this.  Prompt – “What is the role of shared information in modern American society? Can equal access to knowledge alone lead to more equal and just societal outcomes?”

Should the United States policies against the Native Americans be considered “acts of genocide”? Task: In at least 2 paragraphs, please answer the above question using evidence from the past few days’ lessons on U.S. policies toward Native Americans.  Be sure to: Include at least 2 specific examples from this week’s lessons on Native Americans in your answer (1 per paragraph). Cite four relevant sources in Chicago Style format (Use footnotes, not parenthetical citations!), one may be from your textbook, one may be from your primary source reader. Make sure to cite your sources, including those from the Appeal and Garnet’s Speech Paper must be at least 5 pages, double-spaced, 12-point font, in a standard font (Times New Roman) Question: David Walker’s Appeal, written in 1829, and Henry Highland Garnet’s “Address to the Slaves of the United States,” written 1843, were attempts by free African Americans to inspire resistance among the enslaved population.  Compare and contrast the two documents, examining how each author depicted slavery, and what solutions they offered for liberation.  What did Walker and Garnet find most horrific about slavery, and how did they want enslaved people to respond to their conditions? What justifications did they use for their position, and were their solutions possible?

How would you describe the impact of mass incarceration and criminalization of African American life in the society?  Do you think this is a problem for those around you and in the society in general?
