Building on the research you conducted for the annotated bibliography, write a paper of 1000 to 1200 words discussing the ethical issues related to your selected technology that are occurring now or will likely occur in the future. Make sure to include relevant findings from the scholarly sources you used in Part 2 and any other sources you wish to use. You must use at least four relevant sources to support your paper. Write an argumentative essay with three reasons explaining what the femme fatale signifies in modern crime fiction and why her character is so typical. Use “The Maltese Falcon” by Dashiell Hammett and “Black Money” by Ross MacDonald as two of your sources and find at least 3 more secondary sources that explain your three reasons.The thesis I created goes like this:The femme fatale in modern crime stories portrays an incredibly compelling character and tends to be the most iconic, memorable character in her story and uses these characteristics in an effort to achieve her survival because she is trapped in a society where financial independence isn’t achievable without a man thus encouraging her to her trademark of dishonesty, she is seen as an object of desire and nothing more allowing her to get away with certain things, she is actually not the villain the story portrays her to be and has a motive, in this case survival, to get what she wants.I added an outline of what I’ve done so far but please feel free to completely change the thesis and the reasons to how you feel fit. TOPIC: A popular idea suggests that religious beliefs, unlike scientific beliefs, should be merely a matter of faith. However, in this class in this class we’ve seen several different approaches to religion, evidence, and reasons. In this paper, tell me what you think. Do you think that religious beliefs require evidence, or should they be matters of faith (c.f. Clifford and James)? Are there good, philosophical or scientific reasons to believe in God? Single space)Watch this video about contemporary artist Cai Guo-Qiang: : “Material and/or media as content is not a new idea, but an important one, as many contemporary artists continue the practice of choosing materials that best fit the idea they are trying to convey in a work of art. We see this in many ancient cultures who use specific materials for symbolic meaning, one example is the use of gold because it was considered sacred and connected to the divine. Now we will specifically look at Cai Guo Qiangis who’s artwork is often described as powerful because of the materials used to create many of his works of art. He is one of the first artist who is well known for drawing with gun powder- rather then a simple brush or pencil. There are powerful ideas that come from this video, but one quote stands out, in terms thinking about how to approach looking at art, by- Cai Guo-Qiang. He says, in his biography, that in China they have a saying- “reading a painting” / “reading a picture”. This a very healthy approach to viewing art- to hopefully understand the visual ques provided by the artist, all while keeping in mind that your response is totally legitimate and that your response to a work of art is just as important as the intended meaning. I say this because there is no way that we’ll fully understand an artist intent, in a work of art, without further investigation into the artist. Finally when you view a work of art it’s your experience and your understanding that you’ll bring to a work of art- so never underestimate your response to a work of art, even if it differs from the actual content of the work of art.
