Many acts that used to be categorized as victimless crimes are no longer illegal. At the same time, some argue that there is actually no such thing as a victimless crime. Using the sociological theory of your choice, choose one former victimless crime that has been legalized and one that remains illegal. Explain why these actions are legal or illegal, and whether or not you consider them to be victimless. The sociological Theories are: Structural-functionalism, Conflict Theories, Symbolic Interactionism, Feminist Theory

Feedback can be difficult to give and even more difficult to receive. Think about the importance of feedback and the role it plays in your academic and professional lives. : The number of homeschooled children has increased dramatically over the past decade. According to the National Home Education Research Institute, there are currently more than two million homeschooled students in the United States, and the numbers are growing at a rate of 5–12% each year (NHERI.org). Why do you think that the homeschool movement is growing so rapidly? Should parents who choose to homeschool (or send their children to private school) have to pay taxes toward public education? Explain.

Students will 1) conduct a literature review on a specific child welfare issue they are interested in (e.g., adoption breakdown, foster care disruption, structural racism, poverty, juvenile justice disproportionality, child maltreatment, etc.). Students will also 2) identify and describe social work interventions being used, or that should be used to address the issue.  Interventions can range from the micro to the macro level.  A thoughtful, informed analysis and evaluation of the issue and potential intervention is required.

you will critically analyze the arguments surrounding genetically engineered babies, drawing on what you’ve learned up to this point about moral argumentation as it applies to bioethics, moral theories, and, specifically, what you’ve learned about this issue. The consists of three essays, each worth 60 points, for a total of 180 points. Each essay should contain 3-4 well-developed paragraphs, fully address the required prompts, and correctly use MLA or APA format where appropriate. First page What moral obligations do people have in relation to genetic information about potential diseases? Specifically, do we have a moral obligation to know that we potentially have a disease and do we have a duty to warn others? Make sure to explain the core moral concerns when answering the questions. Second page When do you think a doctor must keep genetic information private and when, if ever, do you think a doctor should reveal private information? Your answer should relate to the general moral concepts of paternalism, autonomy and confidentiality. Third page Do you think that genetic engineering of babies is morally acceptable? You may argue that some types are acceptable while others are not. However, it is important to be very clear in your answer. In the course of your answer, make sure to refer to information contained in the debate that you watched and also make sure to distinguish the different types of gene therapy.

What can we learn as we journey through life?

The primary goal of this 5-page essay is to bring two sources into conversation with one another: Barbara Ehrenreich’s “Cultural Baggae” and Elyas Mulu Kiros’s “Why Should One Be Proud of One’s Identity or Country?”    – I have just really over extended myself and I’m really desperate and usually im not the type of person to do this. Between work and my other classes I have just run out of time could someone please help me! – –      (I have written this little piece if it helps at all)When it comes to having pride in one’s country or ethnic heritage, Kiro argues not only how important it is but also how challenging it can be. According to kiro, “wherever there is pride, there is prejudice.” Pride can boost confidence and bring people together. However, excessive pride in one’s self can result in ethnocentrism. Ethnocentrism is when someone’s ethnic background and beliefs cause judgement or slandering toward someone else’s. Ethnic pride requires a neutral standpoint and a willingness to respect other people’s beliefs, however, it cannot be avoided, it is simply part of who we are. Barbra Ehrenrich, who discusses this topic thoroughly throughout her essay, argues that ethnicity has eluded her all of her life and feels ethnic traditions and pride are nothing more than cultural baggage. She uses examples from her life of how to show that none of those things have helped her throughout her life. Her philosophy is,“ think for yourself,” her most important value is having your own identity.
