Collecting Qualitative Data
Your topic is sexual assault on college campus. Refer to Creswell and Guetterman, Chapter 7, for more details on each of the steps below. Use the five steps below to plan a process of collecting qualitative data. 1. What sampling strategy will you use to select the participants and site? Identify participants and sites to be studied and describe your sampling strategy. 2. What types of permissions will be needed to gain access to the participants and sites? Describe how you will gain access to the site and participants and what permissions you will need. 3. What types of qualitative data will you collect? Describe the types of information will best answer your qualitative research questions. 4. What procedures will be used to record the data? Describe your qualitative protocols, instruments, and recording devices that you will use to collect and record the data. 5. How will you address potential field and ethical issues? Describe how you will address potential ethical issues that may arise during the data collection process.
