Communication Theory
Purpose: To begin exploring the nature and application of a prominent communication theory.Description: In this paper, you will summarize the key ideas of a communication theory according to a foundational document written by the theorist(s) own hand(s). That means, if youre summarizing dramatism, the document that you cite must be written by Kenneth Burke. To be clear, you may not cite me, nor any other person who has talked about the theory. This information must come from the theorist(s). Some foundational documents will be journal articles, some may be chapters in books, and some may entire books themselves.Further, you will find five contemporary (within the last 10 years) peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles in which the theory of your choice has been employed to study a single communication phenomenon. You will summarize each article in your own words in a paragraph or two. Include the following information: The elements of the theory that were studied, the methodological design, and the results of the study. Please do not copy and paste abstracts. Read the article and summarize in your own words.Audience: A career communication scholar.Conventions: 900-1200 wordsThird personAPA style (title page, parenthetical citations, reference list)Double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font
