Crime in Urban Cities
From the assigned Social Problems chapter readings, please select one of the issues facing large city urban areas that we discussed in class from chapter 14.3. Ground the issue you chose in the context of one of the following sociological perspectives we discussed from the readings in chapter 14.2 : a functionalist, conflict theory or symbolic interactionism theoretical perspective. Explain why you chose your problems of urban life issue and how you believe this issue can be understood from one of these sociological perspectives.Prepare a two-page summary of the issue you have chosen, and the theoretical perspective you feel can best address/explain/shed light on the issue. Do not use any outside sources beyond the readings I assigned and our class discussion. Be sure to cite when you quote from the reading and interpret/analyze the issue rather than reiterate what the chapter says.
