Criminal Theories
One of the most controversial criminological theories is Edwin Lemert’s Labeling Theory, because it seems to shift the blame for delinquency from the doer to the “caretakers” (parents, schools, juvenile justice system, etc.). Lemert describes what he refers to as primary and secondary deviance. Write a 2-page paper addressing the following questions: a. A brief summary of Lemert’s theory b.
